MARIO:

-19 presumed starters/ contributors missed spring ball- Fall camp is going to look very different from spring when these guys are back and the new guys mix in
- team is really buying into the demanding culture that has been put to them
-no room for bs....
- ton of momentum in recruiting. Mario said he feels like another wave is about to come....
- Elite players are buying in to the vision
- On his staff: patience in the process is key. All of the staff have seen Miami when they were good and now want to be a part of what can be
-Feels really good about the OLine right now... Mirabal teaching fundamentals that will allow them to play a "power game"
Mario says he is Mirabal's "GA"

- On Zion: has some elite level traits, especially when it comes to "recoverability" if he's knocked off his stance
Says Zion is an "elite human being" and a really top level chef....

-On NIL: positive thing for the players. Just needs more clarity & guidelines. Notes that there are some really prominent alumni who have been helpful
"some guys are going to do better with NIL and that's just life"

- On TVD: Leads by example. He's unselfish but is very demanding of himself and his teammates... Totally a team first guy who doesn't care about the personal accolades..

- Mario says he is going to be very demanding of the supporting offensive cast around TVD. Says they have to get better = they all know what is expected of them..

- Weight room, recruiting and the portal has helped make the trenches bigger and stronger. Proof will be when they get on the field: weights in the weight room don't push back.

- Says Jason Taylor has been an invaluable addition to the staff in terms of knowledge and teaching. Mario mentioned the rules governing analyst roles are going to be changing and that will free up JT to help even more...

Just want to reiterate Mario saying that he wants bigger and longer guys that are still athletic and strong. That shows in the players he is recruiting.

Jason Taylor gets brought up every interview, wonder what the future for him holds here if he doesn’t get picked up by another program after the season.

Thanks!

Jahfari Harvey & Will Mallory:

- Mallory said he knew before the season started he was likely going to return for his last year of eligibility. Said he has goals he wants to achieve
-Adjustment from Manny to Mario: Everything is top-notch. Fells it will really help him sharpen up his game and prepare for his future.

- Jahfari said he feels like the DL is going to really improve due to the coaching. All the guys are really bought in and ready to run through the wall for the coaching staff. Says Jason Taylor is around all the time, talking to them, answering questions...

- Harvey says they trust Coach Steele and feels like they will be way better vs the run game this year. Lot of emphasis on tackling,

- Mallory on the offense: more tight end action in new offense. Excited to work more with Coach Gattis... Says he's been through 4 new offenses but he is very excited about this one

Talks very highly about Arroyo. Says he is a stud and really professional - he is really excited to work with him in 2 TE sets this season..

- Jahfari on the defense: Steele has made the defense simple to learn. Feels they picked up alot of it in the spring.

-Mallory- Says they installed alot of offense in the spring but there are pieces to work in now. He feels the offense is going to look very different this fall than it did in the spring practices and game.

- Harvey on Nyjalik Kelly: He's a beast. CAn bend like no one else...
on Cyrus Moss: will be playing Jack end... can really play anywhere..

- Mallory on the infusion of resources and support into the program: says it was evident from the first day Mario was on campus. Money, support from alumni, etc are very different now than in his previous three years on the team..

- On NIL: both say it's great for the players and they don't feel it has been distracting to the team.

TVD:

- Feels that someone is going to step up at WR. Confident in X and says they are working on having someone step up on the outside...
-TE are going to have a big role in offense. Names Mallory, Arroyo and Skinner as likely getting the ball alot in the offense

-Said it was a crazy year. Reiterates that he always tried to prepare like a starter when he was fighting to have the backup job. Recognizes he started out slow the first few games but got more comfortable as the season went on.

- Says Gattis and Cristobal are going to really work on expanding the run game in order to open up the pass game. Notes that Citizen is going to be a great player...He notes that last season Rooster was pretty much the only RB they could use in multiple ways; this season they have multiple guys (maybe 3-4) that will rotate and be used in the passing game as well.

- watched alot of film in off season. Feels going against Kevin Steele's defense is going to help him tremendously.

- Notes that Gattis really wants to win. he really likes that.

-Says he feels that the OL has greatly improved. Says the OLineman are always in the facility working....

-TVD says they have some of the greatest coaches in the country and alot of talent on the team. They need to focus on the details - everyone needs to just do their job and not do dumb things.

- TVD doesn't feel pressure like a professional QB. He says he can see that aspect of the job as far as social media but he just focuses on playing and winning games.

- NIL: hasn't really affected him. Says he really doesn't like doing the social media stuff . He pretty much does it one day a week...
Feels there needs to be some kind of guidelines... Notes that he thinks it's crazy that high school kids who have never played a down of college football are commanding such huge NIL $$$.

- He says that all the sloppy stuff on the field will be cleaned up - guys know they will face Mario if they don't! He says no one wants to do that....

- Mentions he is really looking forward to TAMU game.

"I HATE LOSING"

Incredible summary, Hoya! Major props for what you do to share with us!

More and more confirming that we won't have the type of offense I'd hope for. That is fine as long as it puts up points and get the players and recruits excited about coming to/playing for Miami.

Excited to see the growth of the O-line with the new coaching in place.

Need Mallory to continue to step up like he did last season.

I can see with my own eyes the vast improvements taking place.. but these type of interviews have reverse effects on me. Anyone else? Same song & dance. Woman scorned. Just ready for the season. It all sounds good.

Win the Coastal. Beat Clemson or play them close! LG.

I still cannot believe that he is part of our satff.

It is crazy when you start thinking about of the guys involved with our team right now, and all of the different levels of experience
