Joe Moorhead fired from Miss State

As more support for Moorhead being a candidate, in 2015 (the year before he arrived), Penn State ranked 101st in total offense.

In 2016, Moorhead's first year, they moved up to 21st.

In 2017, his last year, they finished 7th.

In 2018, after he left for Mississippi State, they fell back to 32nd.

He's a fantastic offensive coordinator. He should be interviewed.

Gene Chizik is rumored to be the replacement. He was axed after MSU brought up recruiting violations.

Mississippi State should really look at a defensive mind from the Dan Mullen coaching tree with familiarity with their school to lead their program forward......................
Mullen left the program in great shape (not easy to do at Miss State) and Moorhead managed to do nothing but go backwards. Moorhead was not a good fit there. He might be a good OC, but you wouldn’t know it from this gig. He can certainly do better as an OC elsewhere.

Further proof of the magic Mullen did with that program.

He has them believing they should be relevant, even though his success was the exception to the rule.

Miss State is the Vandy of the West. 6-8 wins is the standard. Crazy year might yield 9-10, or miss a bowl game with 5 wins. But sustained success isn’t coming to Starkville. And if it does, that coach isn’t staying.

Miss State and Moorhead had to replace Prescott. He was good in college running the spread

Miss State probably had this long-term vision in mind when they turned Chizik in to the NCAA. All the pieces are finally falling into place just like they planned. Chess, not checkers.

Would be a great hire. He was very very good at PSU. They had a ton of talent but their o-line stunk & he still made it work.
