Joe Jackson declares for draft

Keep telling yourself that. NFL has no bias joe hasn’t done anything in 3 years to make him a top tier draft pick.

Face the truth.

You can think that if you want, alot of teams draft based off of colleges and lay of the land. If you check the don shula era, he primarily drafted from big 10 country, this is nothing new im saying, just do the research. So gerald willis, how many d-tackles were better than him last year!

You really think that teams will skip out on better players because they have some bias against UM or the ACC? I mean lol, sometimes our guys just are not that good.

Or many times, and more often than not, most times scouts arent that good. Go and see who have been the highest paid d-linemen and highest paid o-linemen(see calais & linder) in the league before or even now and see what rounds they got drafted in.

You are using outliers to define the entire population.

Any one team may have a framework (bias) of some sort or other. There are many teams and those sorts of biases cancel each other out. If too many teams overvalue big ten kids, other teams make a living picking their pockets by drafting kids they’re not focused on.

G Willis got what he got because he was seen as risky and did little to address the risks. That isnt a Miami issue. Its a G Willis issue. The NFL doesnt get to draft his prior year’s performance. It has to project his ability to make an impact the next 5-10 years.

As I said in another thread I’m not sure how anyone can be surprised at the Willis situation. It has nothing to do with where he went to college.
He has baggage and one solid year of production, throw in the mystery year off...

If you had said in January or December..it might be more believeable

**** you NAILED IT
Joe Jackson is a great player but teams have certain thresholds especially as a edge rusher and if you don’t hit them then you won’t be high on their board. I think Joe had a 7.8 3 come which is INCREDIBLY low and he tested very poor athletically in every other event. That’s why he got selected late imo

He also went late bc he didn’t believe his draft ranking.

That was back before he blew off the predraft process. An injury was bad timing for him, but he didnt do anything to enhance his position and apparently turned plenty of teams off.

Well if that's the case about gw3, that's the reason most teams stay sorry along time, and its the weak minded organizations that think like that. You think jimmy johnson or now as much as i dont respect his cheatery, even bill bellicheat would scoop em up. Go back, jimmy johnson ran all those clowns out the nfc east who thought like that and dominated that division and the nfl. All this risky cowardly thinking, only the goon organizations understand and will win on a regular!

Obviously the nfl, belichick included, didn’t think willis was worth a pick. You can claim that means they all are lemmings, but maybe they just dont agree with you.

They get plenty of feedback from scouts. I even shared all of my scouting reports with the compliance office and said he was likely around the 4th.

Not sure how candid you want to be here...but, a few questions.

In your reports, how much did our players poor athletic testing (Joe Jackson, Gerald Willis, Jaquan Johnson) effect their stock in your eyes?

As a follow up...I posed this question during the draft. Shaq Quarterman and Mike Pinckney...would they have been drafted before Quincy Williams, LB, Murray State (late 3rd round draft choice - brother of Quinnen Williams, but general unknown in draft circles) if they would have declared? Basically, in your opinion, would either of them been a Day 1 or Day 2 pick? My hypothesis is that they would not have, but I'm curious of your opinion about our returning senior LBs.
