Joe Batson Retiring At Clemson -- Will Dabo Follow?

Joey Batson has been running S&C at Clemson for a very long time. He was right there with Dabo for all the titles. He announced back in the Spring he's retiring at the end of this upcoming season.

Clemson has a new AD. Dabo is fed up with the state of college football. Tyler from Spartenburg did a number on him. Go back and listen to that phone call again. It was brutal.

I doubt Dabo wants to deal with a new Strength guy running his program and will also retire. Probably some details to be worked out and he doesn't have the luxury of announcing it.

He'll bounce with no fanfare just like Saban.

What do you think?

Ummm ...nope. Guy made the playoffs last year and will have a better team this year
 
Dabo's frustration was/is the drop in team performance under DJ, post- Lawrence. Klubnik is not Lawrence, but he much better and the team improved under him. Dabo may be fed up but makes $10M+ annually.

He many wait until the remaining $EC/B1G expansion-realignment comes into real focus. Clemson left out of the P2 may give him reason to leave,, maybe for a $EC/B1G team or call it a career.

This. Dabo is isn’t giving up that kind of money. Just read up on his background and how his mom struggled providing for him.

He is gonna get every cent he can.

He would be leaving an insane amount of money on the table. I get it.

He has money and his family is taken care of.

When he looks to his left and right, its all new faces. The coaches and administrators he built that program with are all gone.

Batson is a very big piece of that puzzle and I dont think the average poster here understands the responsibilities of the S&C Director. Some of the responses in this thread indicate as much.

I predict we see one more year of Dabo at Clemson.

That's assuming Klubnik is as good as advertised.

Clemson lost a lot on an already struggling offense.

Their success is irrelevant to Dabo staying, imo.

They could have an identical season and I still think he retires.

Dabos frustrations are the same as Saban's and I think he was expecting the Bama job.

That being said. He ain't retiring. Maybe in 4 years spring of 29. But not next

If Woody McCorvey retiring then maybe. Otherswise Dabo coaching at either Clemson or Bama
