Watt, 33, tweeted before yesterday’s game against the Carolina Panthers that his heart had gone into atrial fibrillation and needed to be shocked back into rhythm earlier this week.

There’s probably a million or more young people that have afib in the US. I had no idea he was one of them. I didn’t read the article but it sounds like he had a cardioversion prior to the game. I’m not a cardiologist, but assuming he’s otherwise healthy, there’s probably not a huge risk for him to continue playing, although it probably isn’t zero risk.

IF I had afib, I’d be using my Apple Watch to check it every day. An Apple Watch can actually do a single lead ECG and detect afib.
