Look, we all know this guy’s athletic and good and will play safety in the long run. Why not let him start FAMU at cornerback and give Lucas a break? We don’t need Lucas for the FAMU game. Obviously the receivers are not going to be up to standard, but you would be able to see how JJ does at corner in terms of his reads, blown coverage or lack there of, and how he closes on the run

Thoughts?

The one reason I am not panicking about our corners is Heathermans philosophy on positionless football.

People were freaking out about Fitz playing nickel all off season. Thank god. Now need be we can bring another safety in put Fitz at nickel and put JJ, Damari, and others at boundary.

I trust Heatherman with my life.

People forget because our defense wasn't perfect (still very good) vs. stanford, but he is a mastermind as a defensive coordinator. He will get the very very most out of what is available.

EDIT: also we won't play receivers that scare me until the playoffs

Dunnigan will more likely stay at Safety and Fitz move to a Corner spot, if needed.
If Lucas is actually expected to be out for a significant amount I could see this happening. I think he's capable. I think they're confident in Day and Dunnigan at safety.

Ryan Mack, Camdin Portis, and Chris Ewald will hold it down.

Yeah. Facts is I wouldn’t want Demari playing corner. The only touchdown they could have scored was going to be on him. I don’t think he truly wants to play football. Follow me. Look at his demeanor on the sidelines. I know he can ball. But it’s like he not into ball. We need a dog at corner. I would love to see Ethan O’Conner.

Dude we have Lucas, Brown and O’Connor. I think we’re good at cornerback for a bit.
