Jimmy Johnson on richt calling plays

Mark rich just isn't a good play caller these days amongst other things. Can anybody tell what his offensive philosophy is? I asked last year and got no answer. Really can tell by the way he recruits since he just recruits player snap d then forces them into learning what ever the he'll it is he's doing.

That's my big problem with his work thus far as OC. There is no real philosophy or rhyme to his offense other than "these are the plays I want to call, and I'm going to call them no matter what, over and over and over again, until they work."

Watching the BC game really highlighted the glaring shortcoming. BC's OC did a masterful job during the first 3 drives calling plays that perfectly countered our aggressive (sometimes over-aggressive), attacking defensive style. Every play he called COUNTED on our defense playing very aggressive, and exploited the weak spots that occur in very aggressive defenses. After those drives, our defense adjusted, but a lot of damage was already done. Meanwhile, our offense, every play, was nothing more than a carbon copy of what we did in every other game this year. Richt doesn't call plays to counter the defense he is seeing, he just calls plays he likes.

The difference between me, jimmy, schnelly, erickson and butch, they had to learn about the football talent down, here, i was born, bred, raised and played with some of the best to ever do it. So i know talent equal to or better than them,mi'd definitely smoke alot of them if it was my full time job. Alot of people on here only know about the talent that made it to UM and college football, we can tell you bout alot of them and the ones that didnt make it, who were just as good or in alot of cases even better than the ones who did. I damyum show no for a fact erickson wouldnt even come close or schnelly either evaluating talent against me, jimmy and butch would be a battle royal but i got Supreme confidence in myself so im taking that too. In fact one of my boys worked at UM during the butch years, he was telling me back than i should be a scout.

I damyum show no i know way more than the dumb *** dolphins organization when it comes to evaluating talent for over 30yrs. People are saying now that coach richt is making excuses about Ahmon being out, but none of them who complaining can tell you who to replace Ahmons production. Just stick around, youll learn more for football as time goes on!
 
Dont know who heard it ..but the BIG 0 on 560 am sports radio completely sh*tted on Jimmy Johnson for this.
Also sh*tted on us fans that follow recruiting..calls us nerds and we need a life..lol..Im guessing he is all in on Richt..This is the same guy that goes to the SR BOWL every year and acts like a scout

Was out of town for a while so I didn't see this until just now....but I had to reply. Holy crap that was hysterical!!! You seem to think that you can make up for your lack of knowledge and experience with ego. Thanks for the laugh.

What you think i was gone say, they better than me, you got life, lol, i know talent when i see it, and if you from where some of us from, you'd understand a lil more.
 
Man Calvin you’re a delusional senile fool mate. There’s talent for sure on this team, especially at the skill positions. But to go all in that Richt’s not at fault when everyone else sees the lack of utilizing said talent just speaks to you not being the “man” you profess to be. Stick to hanging out in Mom’s basement and enjoying some maga or whatever else nerd crap you do after you get home from your job at Target.

Exactly. While we may not have Alabama or Clemson talent across all positions, we have more talent than every one of the teams we lost to except maybe LSU. Over the past 5 years our WORST recruiting class was ranked higher than the BEST recruiting class of most of the teams we lost to....in some cases by a wide margin. We have players on our team that were recruited by some of the top programs. The teams we lost to have very few kids that were even plan B or C for the top programs.

The HC needs to be independent of it. That’s the only way he can evaluate it honestly.

Manny is another one where if he doesn't force tackle for a loss play after play or force turnovers, he gets sliced up. Why? Because he is so aggressive that Miami has a tendency to be out of position. Miami still does a lousy job of disgusting especially its blitz packages.

There isn't any. We run verts and various screens out of spread. We rarely run combo routes and rarely ever do we run the intermediate middle of the field. We never show motion so we get no pre-snap reads on coverage schemes and blitz packages and we never try to isolate our fastest receivers.

Homer and Dallas have 20 catches between them. They should have 60 to 80 between them. If you cannot run the ball then get your backs involved in the passing game. Takes pressure off your line.

We are running a bunch of long developing pass routes that are putting too much pressure on our linemen.

We are zoning with a bunch of non-athletic kids.

A front line offensive coordinator fixes us almost immediately. We have enough talent to win every game in the Coastal if we had any competent coaching on the offensive side of the ball.
