Jimmy Johnson on richt calling plays

Whether y'all like it or not, hiring just an OC isn't going to cut it. Give the OC the keys to the offense, meaning fire all of the offensive staff and let him bring his people. I know some of y'all are enamoured with Dugans, Hartley and Thomas but we gotta let them go man. Either that or they gotta take another role as far as coaching.

PS: I would like to hear any of the coaches say the fans don't know what we are talking about after one of the greatest coaches in UM history has just side with us.

I beg to differ. Keep Dugans. He's alright and what not.

Good read and insight. I agree with jimmy from the time demand on a cfb coach. Can it be done, yes. But the offense looks this bad it ALL FALLS ON THE HC

Two People, who in the a.m....Sit on the toilet and wipe their Azzes with Richt....

Jimmy, come back, we need you to right this ship. I know you still got some sauce left. Miami is desperate.

If Richt wants to keep this job and not destroy his career reputation, he will have to recognize VERY soon that his role is a CEO and his main duty is to hire great staff and maximize recruiting and do the PR part for the media. Personally running the entire offense (which he's not good at) just takes his time and focus away from those critical things that need his attention. It's maddening watching this because it's so similar to Golden. Alarm bells going off everywhere and he's deaf to them. Well, Jimmy just sounded a louder alarm. And being the good psychologist he is, even sugar coated it enough that Richt shouldn't dismiss it as a hater. We'll have to see if Mark thinks Jimmy is just one of those people who "don't know football."

Hope Rick is listening because while us peons don’t know football, JJ is arguably the best coach Miami ever had.

What I have said. I like Richt and he can be fantastic as head of the program for recruiting, alumni relations ect. Just get a guy like Manny to run the O and let this beast of a program evolve and eat!

I would imagine the former players and now the GOAT will get James and the BOT attention. Guys like Jimmy aren't going to throw out petty criticism. When he speaks you listen.

Also, if my memory serves me correct, when Richt took the job he made a statement before he hired Manny he wants an attacking 4-3 D that fits the recruiting landscape and Miami dominant D's of the past? I cant imagine he doesn't want an O that uses the athletes we recruit.

This is big.

In so many ways. Like I mentioned, guys like Jimmy don't just criticize unless they care. This shows 1 he thinks Richt can be the guy and 2 that he needs an OC. If Jimmy didn't think Richt could do it, then I doubt he says anything.
