No it's not. FSU is the benefactor of playing in the horrid ACC. Jimbo wants to be challenged more than once a year. Any coach who stays in the ACC over going to a school like LSU in the SEC West is not worth a ****.

The SEC is ****. They had it going for a couple of years, but that conference is mediocre now.
Look at U***... Almost lost to FAU at home! Georgia almost lost to a bad school. Auburn DID lose to an FCS school. Ole Miss lost to Memphis after beating Bama.

For FSU, it would be all upside.
Great coach, proven talent evaluator, dominate recruiting in South Florida and really - elsewhere as well, could spend the extra money on top coordinators and top position coaches, and they could get back to raping the ACC every year and get back into the National Championship playoffs very, very quickly. No one evaluates talent better. No one.
And for Butch, it would be an opportunity to get a couple of National Championships relatively easy, without having to deal with UM's BS, like he had to do last time he was here. Playing for Butch Davis, the man who puts you into the NFL - ready to play - would be a big draw.
And they could have a reasonable contract and rest assured, their coach won't be leaving the first time someone waves big money in his face.

You predict all kinds of success for Butch in S. FL if he was at FSU (which hasn't been a problem with Jimbo), but he failed to land one recruit from Dade while at UNC?

The legend, the myth, the gawd, surely he knew what was in our backyard. He reportedly has the best eye for talent in the world and as I know S. FL, some slipped through the cracks in the hands of the big schools becoming players. Why didn't he find them?
It's funny you brought up Strong though. I said he was a one hit wonder long ago, but boy oh boy did he manage to fill his roster with S.FL talent. He did more at UofL than the gawd did at UNC with largely leftovers from the area gawd supposedly knows best.

That would be in the dictionary under PAINFUL. I don't think Jimbo would be leaving talent like Butch left Coker, but thena again if he did, Al would bench most of that team.

Money will be very similar so at the end of the day, it comes down to overall fit. Maybe the AD at fsu sucks and he can't stand the dude. Maybe his wife likes BR better. Who knows?

IMO FSU is the better program... However, at LSU, he would have more money and resources being in the SEC. He would also have **** near the pick of the litter in La, and Texas while they are down, as well as continue to recruit SoFl. It really is a good situation for Jimbo to be in. I for one don't think he will go. Why try and build something when you already have something built. With the money allegedly being virtually the same I say he stays. If there were a big hike in salary I would possibly think otherwise. I am sure FSU will give him another raise.
