A buddy of mine here that went to Texas A&M says it's all but done. Says they will announce Sun after FSU plays their game. Deal is supposedly for 10 yrs/ 70M. TIFWIW...
Bhahahahaha the only thing she’s committed to is ****!![]()

Mia might decommit after this lol
Once you commit to Herpes it's for life.
She's 1000% committed
It's coaching. I don't think you've fully considered that Bobby Bowden was a once-in-a-lifetime coach for FSU. He was one of the best that ever did it. Jimbo was his OC and just kept the train rolling.
Bowden's record His last 6 years...9-3, 8-5, 7-6, 7-6, 9-4, 7-6..."kept the train rolling"?...LMAO!
They're soft and Texas athletes are generally overrated.
Houston has about as much talent as Miami, Dallas has about as much as Tampa, and San Antonio has about as much as Jacksonville.
Oklahoma State is out in the middle of rural ****ing nowhere. It's an 8 hour drive to Houston. Not the same thing at all.
The NFL numbers speak for themselves when it comes to talent and where it comes from.
Houston has about as much talent as Miami, Dallas has about as much as Tampa, and San Antonio has about as much as Jacksonville.
The NFL disagrees.

Miami is in a league of its own. Dallas is almost even with Fort Lauderdale. Jacksonville far outpaces San Antonio.
Texas is a paper tiger.
It's all pageantry and Friday Night Lights.
It's mythmaking.
Their schools have won one national championship in 40+ years.
I've never seen a state more in love with high school football. You have a high school stadium there near you in Allen that's nicer than what FIU plays in.
You just summed up in two sentences why Texas football is overrated.
Passion and pageantry doesn't make their football players good.
Texas players are overrated, soft and entitled.
Hence why they don't win anything.

I think FSU is about to enter their own Randy Shannon era. Miami didn't used to think coaching mattered either.
Texas and California absolutely produce just as much talent as Florida. As many kids from Texas play in the NFL as do kids from Florida. So it's all about how those kids are coached up. From Businessweek: "California leads the way with 300 players in the NFL, followed closely by Florida (266) and Texas (256)."
A&M joined the SEC only a couple years ago, so I don't know why you're worried about what happened 80 years ago. They were always the small fish in UT and OU's pond, but that's no longer the case as anyone from the state of Texas can tell you. However you feel about the SEC, being in that league has turned them from being second fiddle to being a marquis program in this region.
A&M is a good coach away. You can believe it or not, it doesn't make a lick of difference to me. I can't stand Texas A&M. I'm just calling it as I see it.
And by the way... I think Jimbo is garbage anyway, and Texas A&M won't win **** with him. But that's neither here nor there.
You do realize that Texas is 4 times the size of Florida? So it's also not exactly always a morning drive to visit a handful of 4 or 5 star kids like it is in Florida. Also, you can predict that A&M is a "coach away" and make the comparisons to how bad coaching (and some other factors) kept Miami irrelevant but at the end of the day A&M has NEVER been there so it's not like Jimbo would be bringing them "back".
I see them as the Oklahoma State of Texas. Plenty of money, kind of in fertile recruiting grounds.....but always destined to be a little sister to the big boys they're surrounded by. So far many many years of history agrees.
Bro, I live in Texas. I know. Used to live in Miami. I know that area too.
Both Houston and Dallas are bigger cities than Miami, and despite what you saw on that Friday Night Lights movie or whatever, most of the prospects in Texas are in those two cities. A&M is an hour away from Houston and 1 1/2 hours away from Dallas. Oh, and 3 hours away from San Antonio and Austin. Yeah, you can recruit all the 4/5 star kids you need in just a short drive.
Houston has about as much talent as Miami, Dallas has about as much as Tampa, and San Antonio has about as much as Jacksonville.
Oh by the way, the drive from Tallahassee to Miami is farther than the drive from Texas A&M's campus to New Orleans, another hotbed of talent.
We're not comparing Texas A&M to UM (where talent is 10 minutes away), we're comparing it to FSU. And yeah, they have about the same access to local talent... maybe even giving an edge to A&M.
Oklahoma State is out in the middle of rural ****ing nowhere. It's an 8 hour drive to Houston. Not the same thing at all.
Fake news.
First, Houston does not have as much talent as Miami.
Second, TAMU plays second fiddle in their own state. In Florida, it’s really split up by geography, despite what the delusional Central Florida Gator fans think. UT is the flagship school in Texas no matter where you are. TAMU is second class. There really isn’t a “flagship” football school in Florida.
Third, if part of your “recruiting base” banks on taking top kids from another state, good luck. Especially when that state is Louisiana and you’re dealing with LSU.
TAMU has had “good” recruiting classes under Sumlin. The “success” they’ve had over the last five years is one of the best stretches they have ever had. lTheir location hasn’t changed. Their recruiting base hasn’t changed. They’ve always had good facilities. Yet they are neck and neck with schools like Stanford, Texas, and Arkansas when it comes to NFL players. Sorry, Page Not Found | NCAA.com
Meanwhile the three Florida schools make up 3 of the top 7 schools for NFL players.
All of these TAMU superlatives are the same tied SEC talking points that delusional fans use to convince themselved that their schools are still relevant.
It is funny that FSU is losing their coach though. They are a copycat school and now that copying Alabama has failed, wonder who they turn to next.
SEC talking points? Man, I'm over here laughing my *** off at your Nole talking points on a Canes message board, but whatever.
If you don't think the state of Texas produces recruits in mass numbers, then you just don't understand college football and there's no reasoning with you.
But here, I'll try one last time. This is a heat map of where the top 50 recruits have come from each year since 2000. The black dots are where FSU and A&M are located.

And then this link here does a city-by-city breakdown of where the top talent comes from. Miami and Houston are 1 and 2.

But you didn't say Texas produces a high number of recruits, nobody is arguing that. You said Houston produces the same amount of HS the same talent as Dade, Broward(I guess we'll ignore WPB). That is just not true. SFL is the mecca of HS football talent.
Did you even read the article you linked?

It's all coaching. Miami didn't win anything under Shannon or Golden. Is that because South Florida kids are soft? No, it's because the coaching was terrible.
You're just a South Florida homer. It's cool man, but this discussion is boring me a little bit to be honest.
