jimbo on malachi toney

Jimbo loved recruiting against us in S Fla. And he was better at it than the UM coaches; Shannon, golden, Diaz (whomever they were at that time).
We were at such a disadvantage, even in our own backyard; See Cook v Yearby
Mark Richt started evening up the playing field as far as us getting SO Fla guys, but Jimbo excelled at recruiting down south.

If I'm not wrong there was a story about him and Mario meeting at the same HS while recruiting
Yea I remember that. When he was at FIU he was talking to a recruit and they were like “Jimbo’s here” and Mario was like “I don’t give a **** who’s here I’ll leave when I’m ready.” I believe it went something like that maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

I would leave my wife for Taylor Tannenbaum.

I would have loved to have seen peak Jimbo vs. peak Mario going at it. Those would have been some EPIC battles! Something happened to Jimbo after that messy divorce with his ex-wife and he was never quite the same after that. It seemed like he just stopped caring.

Game passed him by while he was trying to get his off-field stuff together.

That's life sometimes

I bet FSU wishes they still had Jimbo. Be careful what you wish for.

I remember constantly playing Jimbo led teams close, then the halftime adjustments would just wash us away. Dalvin Cook on wheel routes didn't help, Jimbo always dialed those up at just the right time.

Jimbo definitely understands as an FSU.

Answer is Eddie Royal from Virginia Tech.

We are underdogs in this game but we have no choice but to fight our way out of this. We'll find out if Indiana can handle our tenacity.

The dude who understood UM football best, as an outsider, was Bobby Bowden himself. He knew when a Miami defensive line was up to standard

Jimbo should know-He recruited Devonta Freeman,Dalvin Cook and many others from the 305-

The thing about Toney he plays like 10 year veteran-His knowledge of the game is astute-

He’s going to be ballin Monday night-He’s truly been our MVP.

Toney reminds me of those point guards from the playgrounds of NYC, Baltimore and DC who were not the biggest guys on the court and played for those old school Big East teams, dominating games.

Yeah, lot of tough and talented guys come from similar places and don't end up as college All-Americans at age 18. But Mali's grits and guts are just one part of what makes him a one in a thousand College Football payer

He's football-savvy as you mentioned in addition to his elite-level athletic talent.

Most of all perhaps, he's willing to be coached and execute what his coaches ask him to do. Obviously a credit to his family and others who've mentored him along the way
