Jimbo now has a worse record than Sumlin did through 50 games

To be fair, Jumbo still has over 75 years to win it.

I've been saying it for a decade now. Jimbo and Mack Brown are corches who lucked out with generational QBs and a truckload of booster money.

There is a reason A&M's class isn't as strong as last years. It's not the recruits. It's a show-me year for the boosters. They will hold their money if Jimbo keeps losing, so they can use it to buy out his contract and help fund the next coach. He needs to win his conference this year or he's not getting the backing he was in years past, and will be on the hot seat shortly.

The guy is a wounded animal. We need to finish him off this weekend. But I'm worried he's going to let his undisciplined team off leash. Could get ugly.

Jimbo WAS very effective at FSU. Try and repaint it all you like, but he took a dilapidated FSU squad and built them to an elite of the elite program. I just think chemistry, culture, fit and maybe most importantly - era - is really important. Sometimes, when a coach goes to the right program at the right time, he meets with success that wouldn't happen at another time or at the same place again.
he can recruit but his offenses are trash and outdated. hes gonna need go through a philosophy change if he ever wants to be elite again

I think Brian Kelly is a **** of a College Head Coach.

He's a murderous scumbag, but he's a **** of a College Head Coach.

He'll win big at LSU quickly.
Too bad he isn’t a **** of a Special teams coach or **** of a HC to not allow 1/3 of the entire game to allow him to lose to a lesser talented FSU team…

The depth chart on their DL is unreal. At least six 5-star DL are eligible to play. The rest are 4-stars. App State ran over 80 plays, TOP was > 41 minutes. That's coaching. They definitely have the talent.
Defense wasn’t TAM issue on Saturday.

I despise brian kelly like most people in america but if you look up his resume, it's undoubtedly stellar and outside of saban and urban, probably the most sure thing in college football

TAMU still has a whole lot of talent.
App state has a lot of experience and age.

Regardless of what king of team tamu is, It’s very difficult for a highly ranked team to lose 2 in a row. Even harder for a ranked team to lose 2 in a row at home.

At the very least there seems to be some serious question marks about that tamu staff.

If we win in Saturday it will say more about who this team is.
Beating them at home is a huge statement and even more of a statement given how rare it is for a team like that take back to back L’s at home. I especially a night game with college game day.
Everyone will be watching.

Maybe someone can refresh my memory. But when was the last time a top 10 team took 2 back to back L’s at home?

It seems like every year A&M is losing to teams they shouldn't but playing well in other games. Last year just had a more extreme example of it in their almost-loss to Colorado, a truly putrid team, and their win over Alabama. How do you reconcile those two results without looking at player effort and focus? This sort of thing was happening at FSU too. That says rotten team culture to me. I guess you can blame that on Jimbo because it's his responsibility to shape it, but it also points to the prima donna/diva mentality some 4 & 5 star players have. I don't think he knows how to manage it, and it's pretty evident he let it slip away at FSU by letting Winston set the tone for the team with what you can get away with there.

What's jimbo without EJ, Jameis, or, most importantly, Dalvin?

And, it took UM totally effing it up for him to end up with Dalvin. He cherry-picked who he wanted out of sfla because, at the time, our staff couldn't tell the difference between an All-Pro RB and an All-County RB.

If Jimbo was what you say he was, it would have been pretty easy to replicate his results from FSU at A&M, especially with the generous boosters A&M have.

Good coaches don't go to programs with tons of support and still fail. See Scott Frost.

The defense we have right now may not be perfect but we matchup very well with the type of offense Jimbo runs. We are very good against the run and we don't have to worry about our CBs being constantly tested by an aggressive downfield passing game. On offense there are many things Gattis can do out of the bunch sets he loves so much and we can wear them down.

However I think we need to come out throwing. We need to come out aggressive and get TVD into a groove where he is most comfortable. This ATM squad has doubts creeping through their heads and if we come out swinging and get a quick lead on them, they are likely to fold up and quit. Then in the second half we can pound them with the running game until their legs turn to mush.
