I'm not into reading body language on the sidelines or dissecting press conference quotes. What I can deduce is that FSU is 3-2 so far this year and is 7-5 in their last 12 games. Their defense has been Mark D'Onofrio'esque so far this year, their recruiting successes and acquiring 4 and 5 star riches on that side of the ball (Sweat, James, etc.)

Dalvin Cook (essentially their entire offense this season) will be going pro next spring. Francois is a nice looking prospect, but it's hard to envision him carrying offense the way Winston did. I don't see a Kelvin Benjamin or a Rashad Greene on the roster, and perhaps Rudolph bolts too.

With the LSU position currently open, is this the pivot point where Jimbo considers making the change this time around? When you consider that Clemson and now, Louisville, are going to be on their side of the ACC moving forward, does the SEC West seem more desirable? Remember, despite their recent struggles, LSU is still sitting in fertile recruiting ground and has plenty of talent to work with. Ole Miss and Texas A&M are talented teams, yes, but do they have staying power?

My point is, the way this is playing out, I wouldn't be shocked if Jimbo made the move while he still could. When you factor in that Herman will have the brinks truck backed up for him if/when Strong gets fired, it's also hard to project who FSU will be left to sort through. Definitely worth monitoring.

Dalvin is their entire team. If you take Dalvin out of the game, they collapse.

I wouldn't be so sure Cuckbo will have the opportunity to accept the LSU job unless they strike out on a few guys. The bloom should be off the Cuckbo rose at this point.

IKR? Who are these people who see Jimbo at the head of a debacle like FSU at this time, and think LSU is going to want him?

Why would LSU want Jimbo at this point. Gotta believe they want the urban Meyer protege (an offense that has caused Saban fits).

It doesn't matter. All that matters is that we have a coach now. By the end of the month, everyone will know if The U is back or not. If we are still unbeaten, the real question is if Saban starts considering another shot at NFL before we rip the bloom of his rose too.

It's year 1 in Richt's tenure. Need a couple recruiting cycles to be "back" to the form of the old Canes.

Doesn't mean this year can't be special.

If Jimbo took the LSU job there's a good chance FSU would go after Herman.

Texas has been looking for reasons to fire Strong, and aside from the fact that they are awful on defense this year, Herman being pursued by other big programs will be more than enough to get it done. Doubt FSU outbids the oil money here in Austin.

Jimbo will likely be a third of fourth choice for LSU. FSU isn't trying to get rid of him yet. He isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future and I'm happy about that. Remember when Seminole fans wanted Al Golden to stay as long as possible here? That's how I feel about Jimbob and his sinking ship.

If Jimbo stinks up the joint this year, why would LSU even want him?

Because you look at his body of work. Say what you want, but Jimbo is easily a top 10 coach. LSU can do much worse.

Because they see him as QB guru and believe he can fix their offensive woes. There is just as much talent in the Big Raggedy (Baton Rouge) as there is in trailerhassee.
