I don't recall reading any posts talking about the academic scandal at UNC in regards to Butch. It's about his ability to turn into a coRch from time to time and lose to inferior teams whether it's at Miami or UNC.

I see you have selective memory. Plenty of posters going back for at least a couple of years have constantly brought this point up as to why Butch should not be hired.

Even up to a few weeks ago, people were saying that he was involved, where there's smoke there's fire, all the typical bullshyt. Then when Butch came out and declared that he had a letter from the NCAA confirming his innocence, all of a sudden nobody wants to man up and say they were wrong.

Now, I'm not accusing you personally because I don't memorize exactly who said what, but I assure you that people were talking this **** on this site.

Lots of guys saying Butch is too old and hasn't coached in a while. Also say, why hasn't he gotten another job? They won't ask the same questions of Tressel

If he coaches again before his show cause expires in Dec 2016, he'd be suspended the first 5 games, conf title and bowl game, can't attend practice or games for the first 5 games. He also has to submit progress reports to the NCAA.

If you think about, with what UM Compliance has has to deal with it, it'd be easy for them to babysit Tressel.

If Tressel is a candidate for South Carolina, he can be a candidate for Miami.

Will the players' cars have Ohio or Florida tags on them?

I am 100% Butch, but Tressel hasn't coached because he got caught cheating and covering it up. He has So Cause. Butch got clearance letter. See Butch apparently hasn't cheated but Tressel is a proven cheater -- that might give Tressel the edge. Who the heck wants a coach who doesn't cheat.

Tressel, after his tainted national title in '02, had OSU in a BCS bowl nearly every year afterwards. The guy killed it while at OSU and knows how coach. Look at the team that was handed to Urban. Anyone not wanting Tressel....man, I can't help you. With that being said, I doubt he's even being considered by Miami. If he is indeed looking to get back into coaching.

Tressel would get a job in an area of the country more appealing to his wife than Miami. As far as the knock on Butch at UNC, they are still under NCAA investigations pertaining to an athletic department wide academic scam involving African American Studies curriculum which had an inordinate amount of athletes (Black) taking scam classes to remain eligible.This was predominantly basketball players, but also involved football and women's basketball. They have yet to get to the bottom of it and are investigating not only Roy Williams and (God forbid!) Dean Smith, but the football program to boot. Of course, none of these coaches had knowledge of or steered athletes in the direction of those classes to remain eligible. (Tongue in cheek)
