If he’s so fantastic why hasn’t he been a hot name since USF?

He is an abusive *******......

I heard from a fly on the wall, that ol'Jim Leavitt at USF slapped grown *** assistant coaches in the face more than a few times

and that he once got in Bernard TIGER Clarks face toward the end of his stint there, and TIGER told him..
"go head jim slap me in the face, I will break your hand and whip your ***!"

granted Leavitt is like 30 years older and 20lbs lighter...but still funny

You know, I thought it was kind of weird at the time when Clark left USF for FIU.
Perhaps this explains it?
Good story.

*BINGO

There only one thing for us fear, that somehow these people can magically make Donna our president again or Golden HC again. Other than that it doesn’t matter.

Very good coach. He was the main reason CU had that random good year in 2016.

Exactly. They did have some talented senior defensive backs who were drafted high but they never did much until Leavitt arrived, and this season the passing defense yards per attempt soared from 5.7 to 7.2.

I have no idea how anybody can be monumentally stupid enough to doubt a defensive coordinator who can manage a 5.7 passing attempt number in the Pac 12. Washington now plays tremendous defense under Petersen and lots of top rated NFL talent but the best they have managed is 5.7 and 5.9 the past two seasons.

One of the great litmus tests in sports is opinion of the Pac 12. The dummy sports fans always knock the conference, just like the dummies knock preseason ratings. Meanwhile the Pac 12 has the best record of any conference against the SEC recently, and it would be a winning record other than facing LSU, which always can handle the Pac 12 opponents, for some reason. They are 7-0 recently. LSU basically doesn't lose non conference games very much, period.

Florida State was already 5.9 YPA allowed this season, as I've mentioned a couple of times. That was a superior number to the Canes at 6.2. Very underrated team.

I have no idea what to think about Taggart at Florida State but one friend of mine is an Oregon fan and is sick to lose him. He told me there were more signs of legitimacy this season than any point since early Chip Kelly.

If you don't think Leavitt is going to cause us major problems you're either naive or ignorant. Or perhaps both.

His defensive scheme vs Richt's offense scheme is a complete mismatch. Chess vs checkers. We need to have significantly more talent to win that battle.

Buckle up.

Who cares?

Mickey Andrews was the best DC in the country and we beat FSU regularly with him there. We get our talent where it should be and it won't matter

yea.. except we don't have %5 of the talent Mickey had to face through out the years as FSU DC..... I don't see Wayne paired with Moss out there for us..

Yawn. We’re the big boys on the block again. Act like it.

I wouldn't say that.. no ACC team fears playing us next year. NONE. You'd be a fool if you think UNC, FSU, GT, or Pitt thinks they can't beat us next year. Most of them think we've been lucky this year and to some degree we were.

Nothing but truth.

I actually got to know the man not soon after he began the USF program. Very dedicated guy to football and he knows his ****. He is not an *** so I can assure you of that

We can agree to disagree. At USF he was arrogant, rude to employees, and thought he could do anything he wanted simply because he was a very good football coach. That is why he will likely never run another program.

leavitt is a good coach but we went against mickey andrews for years. Lets stop being soft.

Leavitt is a **** good DC and everyone here knows it. If Richt would have hired Leavitt 2 years ago this entire board would be having one big circle jerk including myself of course. Having said that I'm perfectly happy with the way things turned out. Manny Diaz has done a phenomenal job. Leavitt is a stud DC but the noles are going to need more than that. They better hope Taggart can cut it on that stage because it all starts at the top. Good for them but zero ***** given.

Coach speak. D again will be loaded to the gills, Wr’s are as talented as anybody in the nation, Rb’s stacked...We find a real trigger man, look out.

Yeah was just about that. Sounds like he’s staying
The Scoop - Tuesday December 5, 2017 - FootballScoop

Agreed...that combined with him telling recruits he is staying at Oregon regardless of what Taggart did. Oregon board has rumors that AD had already been given permission to up his and Mario's pay to get them to stay. Not sure how that plays in with the next HC unless they promote Mario.

A new report out of Oregon says Jim Leavitt would prefer to remain in Eugene and not follow Willie to FSUhttp://footballscoop.com/the-scoop-2/scoop-tuesday-december-5-2017/…
