Jevon Williams

Yes I'm sure when he won both the 110m and 300m state titles it is only because it was too cold for those in the northern part of the state.

You initially said country not state...and yes in March when he ran that 13.9 the vast majority of the country was running on the indoor circuit. Not sure how many FL schools are running indoor vs outdoor in March. Yes he won the 3A States with a 14.08 so respect given where its due. He has only run a sub 14 once per milesplit and athletic.net. That 13.9 is a one time PR he is routinely in the 14s. Once again not knocking the kid just saying he is not a blazer on the national 110h hurdle level. He is not even the fastest in FL as a whole in the 110h.

Will give credit where its due...dude is a top 5 guy nationally in the 300h.

300h are only 36 inches high while the 100h hurdles are 39 inches. So maybe he just needs to clean up his technique for the higher hurdles...idk.

I don't see anything for him but I would be interested to see his open sprint times. He is probably a mid 11s 100m runner. If so while okay he would not be a top end sprinter.

Timeb0mb must be related to the kid or something. Never seen someone dig in on such a pointless and factually incorrect point. Kids fast, but not special, and tiny.

The funniest thing is, we all agree he has good speed. He’s just not elite, which is a concern on the football field when you’re only 5’7” and 140lbs. His short area movement and shuttle times are far more important than his hurdle time too.

I take no position on whether he should get a football scholarship. He might stink at football. But the dunces who say he is slow because he ran a 4.65 40 are hilarious.

This one is especially funny because this kid is objectively one of the fastest kids in the country but the asscl0wns who dont understand recruiting can't see past his 40 time. Then the dummies double down and say, "it seems his state titles and national best times dont count since the track meets are early in the year and other runners are still in hibernation."

His 300m hurdle time is #4 in the country for 2019 at 36.54. By comparison, Lorenzo Lingard, by all accounts one of Miami's fastest players, had a personal best of 36.63 in 2017. This is the kind of S Fl speedster that goes to some mid tier P5, puts up ridiculous numbers and then these same fans who didn't want him whine that our staff is stupid for not offering a S Fl kid who was top 5 fastest in the country in 300m hurdles.

Ivins thinks this is a track offer and kid may want to do both. Football team hasn’t offered
They better not offer. That’s just **** poor pathetic. This isn’t even a gem type offer if it were to happen lol. But ya know, this board thinks all kids are “ballers” and have gem status. Same thing every year ;)

Give him a track sholly and then throw the ball to him on greentree and see what he does. If he burns half the team on KR/PR sign him up. If not then who gives a ****

Still ****ed we passed on Anthony Schwartz last year. You cant ****** teach that kind of speed

If this kid had anything close to Schwartz speed and was worth anything as a football player then I PROMISE you this wouldn’t be the first time we have heard about this kid and more teams would be knocking at his door. Instead, we are all discussing this for nothing because this is a Canesport special and he isn’t even receiving any attention for football as far as we know. Schwartz had several opportunities at big time programs, will probably play in the NFL and could probably run in the Olympics if he dedicated 100% of his time to preparing for it. This kid on the other hand no one even knows what football teams are actively recruiting him right now. I’m upset we “passed” on Schwartz too, but let’s pump brakes on comparing these 2, lol. And if you weren’t comparing then I apologize.

So we don’t have WR screens, jet sweeps, underneath drags in this offense? This kid would be a slot, returning specialist

Do you see this offense working to utilize this kid, again? Pretty simple the answer is no. The statistics support that, the horrible offensive numbers support it.

Any kid with dynamic talent would waste away with this offense and coaching.

Absolutely. He’s a gamer and an athlete. These are the guys we should be rounding out the roster with. Good football players at important schools locally.

This isn’t to say he’s a take over Fleming or anything. In my view we’ve completely screwed up this class and our recruiting in general. But at this point why not take a shot on him. We have spots and we don’t have good players wanting to take them.

This kid isn't that good imo...And for all that reported speed, I don't see let's say Roscoe Parrish, Isiah Mckenzie, or Tutu Atwell, etc...He slows down big time on his cuts. Is there some shake? Yes of course...but at 5'7 you better be a blur and have wiggle. Again you can find this kid at 5'10 at least 5 times a cycle in Sofla. He's not Fleming, he's not TJB, he's not even Restrepo or Mcdougal.

Gotta be track interest imo.

I think he’s more of a potential g5 or fcs kid. He has talent but I don’t know about p5. I was surprised to hear his name come up here. He’ll definitely play for someone.
