Is Jerry Jeudy realistically that much of a better player/prospect than Richards? I am a canes fan in Alabama and friends of a recruiting analyst Sanjay Kirpalani. He loves Jeudy a lot and Bama fans obviously love Jeudy a lot but is is an once in a decade type of prospect or an elite prospect? What's the biggest differences in his game and Richards game? I like Jeudy and want him bad, but I also loved Richards game and excited what he will do this year! Seems like Jeudy is garnering more attention and publicity than Richards did even though we beat put Bama late for Richards.

Richards is on the same level if not better

That's the reason why I don't understand all the uproar about losing jeudy. Losing a great looking prospect hurts, but it won't set us back. There aren't many that would argue that Richards wasn't the best wr in Fla last year. So arguably the best wr in the state got away this year, so it's a wash to me, can't keep them all.

And guess what ?, there will be someone just as good if not better next year. We grow skilled position players on trees down here. No pressure

I know the SEC bias is alive and real. I respect Alabama for how they approach the game, but I know they get extra love from the media. I really wanted Jeudy but honestly I am excited to see what the offense brings this year. I see us dominating on offense if Coley stays healthy and Richt utilizes Njoku and Herndon. Our offense may not have the "5" stars of Bama offense but just from watching games even with last year staff, our offense just seems more explosive. I still think we flip Jeudy if we handle business on the field unless he really wants to play that one year with Ridley. Because if he doesn't turn out to be on Ridley or Cooper level his time on the field at Bama will be limited. They recruit monster and shelved them for more monsters.

Losing Juedy the athlete is not the end of the world...not even close..HOWEVER...

thematically from a program perspective, the Canes need to become the "destination of choice" for the majority of elite athletes they target...in SoFla and nationally...

remember in today's hyper connected world, Miami is actually at a disadvantage for SoFla kids simply because some/most/all get exposed to "life in other places" and you can't blame them for thinking "what would it be like if I lived there?"...

while SoFla is paradise for residents and outsiders alike...some residents take it for granted...and sometimes that leads to, "maybe it would be cool to go to scho ol at x, y, or z"...

Canes go on with/without Juedy specifically...just need to start winning more contests for elite talent...

Go Richt...Go Canes.

Jeudy is elite but Richards was as well and we got him. There is still time on jeudy but I don't understand how someone can get upset when jeudy has leaned strongly to bama even before Ridley went there and we wasn't even a topic ofthe discussion in his recruitment until like March this year...

I agree with what your saying. I could see how it would be hard for a teenager to pass up on going to Alabama. Im very realistic. Alabama is a boring state trust me I'm born and raised Bama boy but Tuscaloosa is a college town and players are treated like kings. And they get coaching from Saban who people would give their babies up to meet. I'll paint a picture. Imagine Florida had no professional teams in any sport and only two major colleges and one college has won like 10 plus championships in college football. Thats how the state of Alabama is. But the reason I fell in love with Niami is the brotherhood of players giving their all to kick some *** on the field. I hope we get back to that instead of trying to match the machines of SEC schools. Trust me people fear Miami keeping elite recruits and kicking *** on the field.

There is still a long time before signing day. I would imagine Kiffin will be on to a HC position after this year and you never know... I feel confident in our staff staying in tact for at least 3-4 years before anyone gets a promotion. Now that we are paying we should see alot more stability.

One of these kids could've played DB or WR at any D1 school. The other looks really good in shorts when only 1 guy is covering him and has a whole field and 5 seconds to get open.

Richards is the better athlete but Jeudy is the more polished receiver. Those routes he runs are nasty. Plus what's it matter? Two different classes and I wanted both.

Its called stacking talent.......and the lack of it has been part of the reason we stink (though not as big a reason as the idiots we've had coaching). No one said we shouldn't stack talent when we have 4-5 nfl rbs, 2-3 TEs, and several NFL wrs at once. but we need to win first.

Difference between Jeudy and Richards....
Jeudy is thicker build wise, but is shorter(barely) and slower than Richards.
Jeudy is an elite talent but inconsistent and doesn't always bring his A game week in and week out. He plays down to the competition sometimes and even gets lazy (it seems) against elite competition. It's like he gets bored. This year camp circuit has been the most consistent he has been, but that's not considering how separated everything is and how easy it is to NOT be bored, so it bodes well for the type of player that some of us see's him as.
Everything that we saw Jeudy do in shorts and a t-shirt this summer, Richards did it all plus more on the field as a senior. Richards is also slightly faster, and is way more consistent.

At this point I would pick Richards over Jeudy, but the bold part above is important, Jeudy still has a year to prove he can be consistent on the field. While he CAN grow a little more, he won't be as fast as Richards, but can show just as much on the field.

Jeudy runs good routes at camps...he was inconsistent throughout the season (made huge plays but also disappeared at times)...he got shut down by Shawn Davis during spring scrimmages earlier this year (That's what I read at least). I wouldn't say Jeudy is the more polished Receiver.

Richards has more speed and better hands.. If you look at the film Richards pulls away from defenders once ahead of them and Jeudy doesnt have that kind of speed.. I do agree with others that Jeudy runs crisper routes.. Since they are different classes it doesnt matter, but beating Bama for Richards was a bigger win than with Jeudy..

What Richt has to work with is more than enough to win the ACC. That's all that matters to me. Do that and we very well could make the playoffs where ANYTHING can happen. Jeudy is VERY talented, but I'd take Kaaya throwing to the talent he has over a super talented WR without much of a QB. I like our team, and Richt calling plays will be deadly. Mark my words, we WILL shock the world this year.

Jeudy sells his routes as good as any of I've ever seen. Richards is faster & better hands. I'd take Richards over Jeudy also but by no means am I saying Jeudy isn't good. He's extremely good. Grimes is that dude tho

No it is not. Please don't be delusional like those boys up north in Tally.

I think we "shock" the world by winning the Coastal and maybe 10+ games, but we don't have the depth at key positions to make the playoffs.
