Jets expected to hire...

So sam Darnold will be throwing 5 yd passes 30 times a game. Seen enough of gASE TO KNOW HE THINKS HE IS SMARTEST MAN IN THE ROOMA ND IS JUST MAYBE AN AVG PLAYCALLER. The Jets may have the worst wrs in the league and a qb that appeared worse than Ryan Tannehill ...good luck lol
And a very good TE from the U.

That's the summary right there. Tannehill has been the ongoing disease. Very difficult to tell what Adam Gase is, when's he's saddled with Ryan Tannehill and an organization that is dense enough to believe in Ryan Tannehill.

Sam Darnold won't be 22 years old until June. So essentially Adam Gase is buying upside that he never owned in Miami. At the identical age that Darnold is now, Ryan Tannehill had thrown a grand total of 9 passes as a college quarterback.

Most NFL head coaches fail. That's the nature of the league. Go .500 then get fired and you are forever considered a bum. But Adam Gase won an extraordinary number of games he had no business winning. I've followed the franchise for 50 years and there has never been a stretch like that. Numerous times in Gase's tenure the theoretical win percentage at a given point in the game was less than 10%, yet the Dolphins pulled it out anyway. Often you'll go season after season without one example like that. Gase seemed to assume he was birthrighted for those wins. Didn't even act surprised.

And it was very puzzling to evaluate. His point differential was abysmal yet the won/loss record was far greater than the point differential suggested. His home record was bizarre positive given the caliber of team, but the road record and road stats were terrible for that level of team. Gase won a fantastic percentage of tight games but got blown out to amazing dependability, even by teams that don't blow anybody out, like the Bills in the finale.

I tend to think he is underrated. What is the old scout saying...don't tell me what a player can't do, tell me what he can do.

Adam Gase won so many unlikely games and so often was annoyed at the offense even when it scored a decent chunk of points, like high 20s. That was particularly evident in his first season of 2016. Once I saw that attitude I concluded that he probably has major reason to believe his schemes can win big once he has a top notch quarterback. Apparently Peyton Manning feels the same way and strongly recommended Gase to the Jets.

I feel like The Offensive line coach drama really had its toll on this years team and injuries didn't help. Miami has so many headline worthy stories they dont feel like headlines just reports.
Calais Campbell was never a Dolphin, first a Cardinal and now a Jaquar.

No he wasn't. But he was the player that turned Tannehill from Durable tough as nails to Delicate Rust and Frail. You have to be a Dolphins fan and Hurricanes fan to understand my comment

I've been a Dolfan since 1971, Please. And a Cane since 1978
are you saying Calais wasn't a Cardinal? Please look up his NFL experience. And yes you are right about him nailing Tannehills knee. If you are trying to say that he was a Dolphin for taking Tannehill out and most likely gone from the Fins, ok, but please I have suffered thru year after year of the fins. Long Live Jim Jensen

I'm assuming he meant Cameron Wake...because even Olivier Vernon was gone when Gase got here.

I mean Calais Campbell. He bent back Tannehills knee at a time when the majority of people always thought they can count on Tannehill to be there. What's the saying " the best ability is availability". Tannehill was never our future but him getting sacked time after time and still hanging in there gained my respect. The organization should have had a line to protect him... they never did. The organization should of brought in competition for him... they never did. I dont like that gase brought Jay Cutler, Brock Osweiler but till this date that's the most competition he had. Matt Moore was more like a sparring partner to Tannehill

Avax my brother Calais hyper Extended Tannehills knee when we played the Cardinals. The first year of Adam Gases short tenure. I for one would have liked to know if we could stand a chance to the Steelers with Tannehill not Moore... we did beat them earlier in the season but Big Ben went down the first time

That's Calais and the Peak of Adam Gases Tenure turning south

I could see Gase being successful, if he somehow learns how to stop being a stubborn ***. He lost me when he brought in Jay Cutler, and *stuck with* him just because he's his boy.

Got it, watched the Game, but after so many average games, I just don't see/wont see Tannehill having any chance against the Steelers. Its just time to move on from Tannehill and Gase.
