I really want to agree with this, but this isn't true. It a huge organization and there are more people to blame than just Al.

Jethro has coached under Al for 5 years at two different schools. Either Al is terrible at hiring/evaluating assistants, or his scheme is to blame for the porous DL play.

Any way you slice it, it's Al's fault.

No it isn't. Jethro has squatter's rights. He sneaked in 5 years ago, and no one noticed him. Now poor Folden the victim is stuck with him. Jethro knows he's untouchable, so he's gone rogue and has been teaching passive DL play when Folden and Dorito want to be aggressive up front. Poor Folden.

Yeah, he made some plays in that game, but it seems they were clean up plays, not plays where he forced the issue. Hey, I'm glad the guy played hard for us, but I never really saw the force some thought he would be.

Yeap, Chick is the problem. Poor Al. His entire career shot down by this kid. What a shame. Get real. Is Chick Dan Stubbs, no. Do we know how good he might have been in a defense suited for him and with good coaching, **** no. Chick, like so many kids under Randy and Al was at his best as a freshman. Then the coaching took effect and they went downhill. With couple exceptions, Spence and DP, most of our players have gotten worse year by year. We have had absolutely horrible coaching since Coker slaughtered the assistants to save his job. I really believe our teams would be better off lead by their captains and use the coaching staff money toward a stadium. DP and Kaaya would certainly done better than the jokers we have now. Randy's great recruiting class almost beat the gator in the swamp their first year--THEN they got coached up. Many of Al's recruits have already displayed the same pattern -- first game of first year is their best. Then the get coached up. The blame is at the feet of the BOT. They insist on crappy coaches and get them. Stop trashing these kids.

He had a LOT of one year gigs, which is a red flag in my eyes. Guys who are great at their craft and in-demand don't bounce around that much laterally. I have NEVER like the technique of our DLine since he came here and don't understand what he is teaching these guys. Maybe the game has passed him by.

I think you would find that DL coaches are constantly moving around. Look at guys like Palermo, et al.

Haha, now our 5* recruits just weren't talented. Can't make this **** up. Just coincidence that our 3 5* on D, Chick, Howard, Thomas, all are playing below expectation.
