Jess Simpson

. . . seven state titles and compiled a record of 164-12 – a .932 winning percentage . . .

Hey . . . who called his plays?

Thank you for this

Something tells me that Searles is gone pretty soon, whether it be him leaving to UNC with Mack Brown or just getting the ax. He is recruiting (or not recruiting) like Kool was right before he bounced to Bama.

If he’s on the move.. then I wish it would go ahead and happen.. get someone else in here and start crootin’ it’s doing no good keeping him here now.

I don’t want to praise him too much, I want to see who he closes on, but Jesus Christ he is making some noise and is night and day better than Searles. Simpson is getting a seat at the table with A LOT of top DL.

Meanwhile Searles is scouting DL conversion candidates in Ohio somewhere, and D2 transfers.

This combined with how the DL played in 2018 really has him trending up. It’s too bad Richt won’t do the same on offense
Look who is running the O as compared to who is running the D. It's not on Searles that the O system is so putrid no OL want to commit. That is all on our OCs, who think they can game plan and call plays at a high level when they can not. Searles is recruiting with his hands tied behind his back.

Player: "Coach, is Richt going to hire an OC to fix the O?"
Searles: "We don't need a new OC, as we already have three. All we need are the players to execute, and that's where you come in."
Player: "Do you honestly expect me to believe that?"
Searles: "Listen, I don't believe it myself, but it's what I was told to tell you."

I believe this.

I agree having the Richts handle the O doesn’t help, but you’d be hard pressed to show tangible evidence, whether on the field or recruiting, that shows Searles is a top 20 OL coach and deserves to keep his job

Show me one guy that improved in 2018

Richt could bring in the best OL coach in the country and his O would make them look bad. That is the heart of the problem.
