our run defense has been better. still needs to improve but lets be real. this guy dont have chad, toolbox, norton ,rj, and moten, yet hes making it work. numbers are up from last year.

Toolbox was a great player for us, especially when he got up field. Anyway, the point I’m making is that Simpson has talent as good or better than Kool did his last year. I also think Nesta will contribute more as the season progresses to go along with a healthy Patchan. At worst, I think the lines are push.

Hard to interpret as kuligowski did coach these guys. If you take willis or jackson for instance they’ve been coached more by kuligowski than simpson. Hopefully we see no downtrend as new guys who are all simpson come in

Run defense was off tonight especially early on in the first half but yeah he’s been solid. The run defense wasn’t even on the dline, the back 7 wasn’t discipline enough in defending the run early on and taking many false steps

Other than the outside runs I feel like alot of the run defense issues are more about linebackers not filling the the right gaps.

That’s been the issue the last 2 years mostly , will get better when Jaquan Johnson is there to clean up mistakes
