alot of people tell me they love this guy. I saw some hate going his way but i think it's unfair at this point. JJ is playing with a hurt arm but garvin and willis are killing it.
We dont have great depth on DL. Kool inherited a ton of guys. too early to jump gun on this guy

We lost Mac, Norton , Harris,Chad, Moten , DJack is hurt and DJ transferred. That’s seven guys gone from depth. Then mix in the abortion of recruiting by Kul.

Not only did he inherit awful depth , he’s having to completely build a new dL his first full class.

Simpson is the least of our worries right now.

The richts , the qb , depth chart management , awful st’s and Manny over thinking **** is more concerning imo.
 
We won’t know about his coaching for a while because we have some talented guys that are balling at DE and Willis at DT.

He’s not gonna get more burn til later in the season. It’ll eventually happen but he’s gotta put on some more muscle specifically because he’s going to be asked to be a nose/1-tech.
 
So far he has done a very good job, players look well coached and he is doing very well on the recruiting front. If he can cap off the class with Bogle and Ingraham it will be fantastic.
 
Dline was impactful today, just think about how many missed opportunities they had because of the qb evading a rush or so and picking up some yards. They made a bunch of plays and there was STILL a bunch more we could have made if we kept contain on the qb. Overall they are doing their job on run defense maybe even better than last season and the pass rush is getting better. They will be fine

Give u points for pointing out the **** storm Simpson has inherited, so far he’s done a pretty good job with who we have. No complaints.

For the rosier haters out there, as crazy as he makes me some times he’s not the issue. Our O-line, LBs, knowles and Dean are our weak points, along with mass substitutions. Onezy, twozies fine but not half the defense (poor coaching) Love Shaq and Pick but u gotta be real, they are not progressing as I would’ve hoped. Either a complacency or coaching issue.

Ford, Bethel = still mediocre

He inherited Willis

Garvin looled like a natural at right end yet hes playing mostly at left end. Havent seen the impact from him that I expected(Wilis level impact).

Team couldnt stop the run against LSU.

Agreed. I want to smack anyone anytime they criticize Simpson. To shore up our DE depth, we had to move McCray over to the position.

Outside of the 50-yard TD in which Jennings missed the gap and Knowels took a bad angle, Miami actually did a really good job on LSU's run game.
