MEGA Jeremiah Smith Thread

this is why I wanted that national title for Mario so bad this past season. It would've been complete vindication for him, this city, this program and every true fans that stuck with it the past two decades. Still, a point was made even though we didn't make it all the way to Mt Everest

Regardless, I love the trajectory Miami is on...

everything comes at a cost. Even a great career with a bountiful NIL package
I always thought if (big if) if we ever got back, how could Amari Cooper and those boys ever go back on our sideline when its hollywood. Thats a big risk to take, yea you are rich and you made it but that is huge imo. I would want to go back even if I was a player in a down era. The ability for a Duke Johnson to go to the sideline when we are up and still have the respect of the locals. That is huge and a bunch of players threw that away. Now look, and now they cant be a part of it. **** must be brutal mentally knowing they had the choice. Yea they got their natty's etc and awards, but this little UM came back as a Giant and you cant root for them. **** would eat my mind daily if I was a local

that's why young men like Malachi Toney must be respected and revered while they are here. It has to be made clear that being a Miami Hurricane has it's privileges

yup no matter what happens proud of these type of Canes and the rise of the U. Show them what it is to win big in Miami, root hard show love and the rest will take care of itself

I love this clip but it doesn’t hit quite as hard since he did win a natty with them the year prior.
Its Friday GIF by HBO Max

JS couldn’t transfer to Miami even if he wanted.

It would be similar to the KD to Golden State effect. Doesn’t matter that he won a chip and we were 1 drive short of the chip. Had he transferred for the 2026 season, he would’ve never gotten the love and adulation that he sees from afar even if we were to win it all with him in 2026

KD to the Warriors has had a looming affect on all superstar players and the things to consider if joining another team. Been different had JS not just lost to us but because he did, unintended consequence is that he basically couldn’t transfer to us.

I genuinely believe had we lost to A&M and OSU loses to idk A&M or Indy or whomever, we land JS in the 2026 spring portal.

I feel you just the epic meme that would be if Smith hadn't won **** at OSU and we had pulled it off last season or even won it this season. Swap the football for a national title trophy and its the greatest meme in UM history.

Alas you cant change the past, like Jeremiah wishes he could (there's zero doubt that watching Cam and Malachi do their thing has got him in his feels.) Regardless, that play is still one of the greatest and most cathartic UM moments of all time. Most important play in the last 25 years and top 10 all time.

1. For me is the first Natty pass deflection to win

2. Probably Robert Bailey in the cotton bowl

What other plays yall got on the top 10 all time? 3rd and 43? Im in my 40s so my memories of the 80s and early 90 arent that sharp.

You're right, but he's got to be thinking he would have won a Natty (or two?) here if see signed with us.
'24> Semi's, '25 >Natty, '26> One of Natty favorites.

He thought instant gratification was all and did not believe. When Miami is good what did he think would happen? He thought kids would go to Ohio and take a plane to watch him practice? Like how goofy do you have to be? This is common sense its the home town team, and when you get a superstar this is what happens......no where else can this be duplicated and he is jealous. He is rich and will be an NFL legend but at what cost? Dudes that left cant come to the sideline and root for UM they have to fly to Ohio, who wants to go fly to Ohio? Lets be serious

Miami is hollywood and he wont be a part of it when we have big games. Only time he will show up is if OSU plays Miami thats it, and after that he will never go back there again
Mann! All I can say is you read my mind bro. And you always keep it 💯 👌 with your post!

To your point. Smith will never feel that Miami legend love. Thats what those coaches and hamdlers fail to mention.

I’ve experienced community events and parties hosted by NFL guys who went to college elsewhere….. the turnout and love is nothing compared to a cane hosting events.

Just facts. Smith seeing Mali is a daily reminder that he played himself. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yeah but there's another layer to this we beat them head-to-head I guarantee you he hears it from family when he comes home and I bet you he didn't even think we would be relevant while he was in college so yeah we've accomplished most of the second-guessing goals we set out to accomplish when he signed with Ohio State trust me he has regrets

FSmith NEVER expected Malachi Toney to come out of effing Nowhere and basically take over the City. The kid has young boys who want to buy his merch for Christmas and give a shirt about Jeremiah. Don’t kid yourself, that’s what hurts.

When JS committed to Ohio State, and then signed, that’s when I checked out.

**** this guy. With all the thousands of posts that have been written about him, this may be my very first one. He was dead to me the moment he signed with that cold tomb shīthole in Ohio.

It’s like this:
