I’m sure if the $ was the same, he’d entertain the thought of coming back home. But paying him what Ohio State is paying him would force us to pay Toney a lot more as well. Would be exciting but we are on the verge of getting #6, and we could get #7 without him.

Portal era , we can’t have this closed minded thinking imo
fair, but idk that its mutually exclusive yk?

i love seeing us rock the portal and getting guys like cam ward or transfers on defense like jakobe thomas who are absolute game changers

but there’s also so many guys who are not about that life and way too willing to bail when it gets tough. i could name a few, including some @uga we just waved goodbye to as we passed them on our way to the semi finals. but i won’t.

so imo there is something critical about a die-hard, orange and green core, like bain and cici and bissainthe. cristobal too. or guys like duke, shaq, denzel, and kam along the way. changes everything

and not altogether that different from what i feel sets us apart from other schools historically. feel like our culture is just as passionate as a bama or a clemson but maybe more sincere and honest wrt diversity.
and in 83-84 feel like that culture headed up by schnellenberger and continued w/ jimmy johnson is what kept the best south florida talent at HOME. and most would agree that’s one of, if not THE, best talent pools in the country
