So.. he's just trying to get more money out of OSU.

I take that as a positive. He's got no love for OSU, it's a question of $$$. He is betting that 3-4 years when he goes to the draft, he'll be a higher pick playing for OSU than if he plays for UM. That's quite a bet to make when you don't know what the QB situation is going to be and there are lot of other variables like injuries, coaching changes, etc. So UM has to convince him that it's a better financial choice for himself and his family to take a lot more money now and be rich right out of HS, and that he'll get drafted just as high, if not higher if he plays for UM.
