Larry Scott needs to be retained. Turned Walford into an All American and has our TEs looking great this season again.

Worthless huh? Why our TEs balling? Why we get them tampa kids? He needs to be retained
 
Our offense struggled for long stretches under fisch. I remember going two sometimes three quarters being unable to move the ball. We also had red zone issues. Fisch is overrated as a coordinator. He's a great QB coach and gets the most out of them, but as a coordinator I don't want him anywhere near this program. We need a solid coach and solid coordinators.

So what youre telling me that out if the 3 qbs he was involved in recruiting, all 3 sucked and didnt do ****. Yea that who i want as my oc

Jedd finch is mediocre at best.

His play calling was just as erratic as coleys. He had zero rhyme or reason. Also loved to get cute with the offense. His offense would be humming then we would go completely away from. He never stuck with run game.. Just like coley. 3rd were just as big as problem under him. Not to mention Jedd was a HORIBLE TALENT EVALUATER AND CROOTER!

Ha nothing more then a QB coach assistant OC. James coley is better and that's just bc he landed Kaaya

I agree with your take in that Fisch did tend to get overly cute sometimes. however, I think that's a common trait of many competent OC's nowadays. Overall, I found Jedd Fisch to be way better than mediocre. I would luv to have him back at UM.

Also, I put no stock into his talent evaluations. The only kid he brought in was Preston Dewey who had Ty Detmer's endorsement. It is what it is. That said, my bullet points above are sound.

Mark Whipple was far from a disaster. He's the most accomplished coach to work at UM in the past 15+ years. Dude's offenses at the 1AA level were elite. As well, he won a national title as a head coach at that level.


Seeing the comments in this thread remind me just how our nation ends up with presidents like Dubya and obama. People have no idea how to think critically.

And look at what happened to since we havent had the spread and look at all the teams that have switched to it, fisch had horrible games against the big name teams

Besides TCU, who else has made themselves championship material by running the spread? And they're questionable to be in that category...

Absolutely...no matter what team it is the TE coach HAS to be a top notch recruiter first and foremost. Same with a WR coach, RB coach, etc.

I want top level recruiters at all position level coaches. And the HC needs to be one as well. However, I would be happy with a Whip or Jedd as OC because they can develop players and they can design an offense. There is a reason Jedd has done so well in the field. Other guys who know coaching think he is going to be good. As far as whip, I like a guy that has some fire in him. If JH wasn't throwing lobs he would have had us dominating teams. He was aggressive, our team as a whole lacked any real balls just like the HC at the time. But thats just my .02. Not pushing for either of them to come back, but I would not ***** if the HC was the right guy.

What Whipple did at UMass is totally irrelevant to his performance at UM.
