2027 Jaxon Dollar 5* TE from Denver, NC (East Lincoln HS)

Dawson vastly underused Arroyo when we had him. He was arguably our most talented receiving option and he was FIFTH on the team in receptions, averaging 2.7 receptions per game. If our case to Dollar is come to Miami and catch less than 3 passes per game…

Arroyo didn’t even play a full season as a starter before 2024 and yall wanted us to cater the offense to him over a wr room who had a wr with 1k and 864 WITH TVD BTW, that added another wr who had 815..All BEFORE playing a snap with cam ward btw who came from an offense who featured the wr room

So yea we should have thrown the best offenses in the country plan out the window to uphold the TEU tradition!!! Lmfao

I seriously think this narrative is one of the dumbest things on this board

1. Because people are nitpicking the best offense we have ever had, offense that literally carried the team to 10wins

2. More importantly its like yall don’t understand the role of a tight end, they aren’t just wrs. Arroyo blocked alot for us and his blocking was more important than his receiving ability was
I get what you saying but he was the most talented and explosive of the group. Brown was faster but he wasn’t as good. A TE averaging 17ypc is crazy and he led the team. Why not get a guy like that more than 35 catches? He had less catches than all of the top TEs in his draft class. I ain’t complaining at all because the offense was elite but a weapon and mismatch problem like that was definitely not used enough

People say Miami isn’t in the SEC, so it’s not a hard playing school. But seeing practice, it’s straight physicality every rep

....

So where does Miami stand coming out of the visit?

“The campus and school are beautiful,” Dollar said. “The football is great. Having Miami as an option is great. They stand pretty high. Miami is in the Top 3.”
What does he say about Mike Viti?

What does he say about Mike Viti?

And it’s safe to say Viti made a strong impression.

“Coach Viti is a great guy and a great coach,” Dollar said. “His background is amazing. Getting that relationship going with him, I can’t wait for the future. I like how direct he was. He’s from Army, but he’s a laid-back guy as well.”

Dollar added that he was impressed with the way Viti worked with the tight ends at practice. He also loved the overall physical nature in Coral Gables.

....

"From what I did see, Coach Viti was teaching the tight ends how to be better — blocking or even routes on air. He was leading them the right way.”

Look at how much points we scoring and yall talking bout left meat on the bone lmfao like bruh wtf are we talking about
Looking at the end result and excusing the process to get there. Arroyo was underutilized, that doesn't mean the offense suffered dramatically because of it. Those are 2 separate arguments.

I don’t think you get what im saying lol. X averaged 16 yards per catch arroyo averaged one yard more per catch dawg lol wtf are we talking about here

We had the #1 passing game by far and we’re talking about someone wasn’t used enough. I swear this discussion feels like a troll or something lmao

Yea he had less catches than other top tight ends, did those other tight ends play with a wr that was an all American??? And 3 other wrs that had over 30 catches and 500 yards? Wtf are we talking about

And the root of this is yall don’t understand what the tight end position is, yall think its another wr when its not just that. Arroyo impact was not biggest as a wr i dont think yall understand this

No those aren’t two separate arguments, he was not underused at all. Making it two separate arguments is why yall are ending up with this narrative, that’s yall just ignoring that we had other really good players because arroyo tested well and got drafted higher than them

You are arguing the offense was good. That has nothing to do with how often Arroyo was utilized and situational football. Their were plenty of times we failed to exploit matchups or stalled in 2nd QTRs throughout that season. The heroics of Cam doesn't cover for the lack of Arroyo usage.

Unless you think that using Arroyo more would have made them win vs GT or Cuse it is really hard to argue that his usage had any negative consequences on the offense (1st in the nation with a bullet) or the team. Based on the fact that he was drafted in the second round (and only that late based on his injury history) it is really hard to say his usage held him back personally. I understand being a fan of the player and wishing he would have been used more, anecdotally, but logically it just doesn't seem to be the case.

I understand what the TE position is and the argument isn’t wether or not the offense was good because obviously it was. Fans complained about brown all year. A lot of his opportunities could have gone to arroyo. It is what it is arroyo made the most of his opportunities and dawson throughout his career hasn’t really been a TE guy

Yes it does, the offense was good because we had a plethora of weapons if we didn’t have an all american slot and 3 other good wrs we would have had to use arroyo more. Arroyo was utilized like a regular top tight end on a team with alot of weapons, and yall just only see his impact if he’s catching the ball

And of course yall gon find a way to nitpick the #1 offense in the country lol, and yea just targeting arroyo would have solved those drives that we didn’t score on lol i swear this **** gotta be yall trolling

I must be the only one that watched McCormick struggle when given opportunities to catch a football. You guys are not being honest with yourselves.

We are talking about usage not how good the offense was smh

…maybe his usage wasn’t as high because of how good the offense was when we targeted the all American wr and the other good WRs we had? Just maybe that had something to do with him not having a higher usage lol

And that’s the point. Dawson has a history of low usage of TEs outside of blocking

Cam McCormick had 6 catches on 8 targets for 42 yards and 3 TD's in 24. This was holding back Arroyo's opportunities?
