Jarren Williams

I hear that, and I agree. I was just taken aback by the "through Spring" part. I fully get that whoever doesnt start in 2019 may decide to play elsewhere in 2020. But its concerning to think he may already be contemplating that post-spring; as in, Im planning on bolting BEFORE the start of this season if I dont think Im getting the nod, so that 2019 is my sit out year. I would understand that and wouldnt hate on him for it, but that's troubling to me if true. Maybe im reading more into that sentence than I should be. Just a strange way to phrase it, and to me it is very telling that it was said that way.

I’m guessing the “through spring” quote is about seeing how the coaches handle the QB reps.

If Tate was guaranteed the spot for transferring, or N’kosi was treated at the incumbent, then Jarren probably transfers, IMO.

A little premature to make any assumptions until the teams go live, but I love the kids confidence. I’m a Tate homer...not going to lie due to the accolades and winning mentality, but with Jarren turning up I’m warming up to the idea of him at the helm. Let the best man win!

LOL, "transfer tate" is your guy, and may i ask sir, what "winning mentality" has he displayed, that **** transfered in cause he was a lost out somewhere else. And this jarren guy is a lil fluzzy in his young age to as well, when a player has to be talked out of not quitting to many times can he be trusted, cause if perry beats him out again, what he gone do, head for the hills again.

So Perry can be trusted? He was handed the starting job with a side of pasta and continued to find ways to **** it up. If you can’t operate Richt’s pop warner offense efficiently, what makes you think that peabrain will take Enos’ playbook seriously? Perry won’t throw a regular season ball for Miami again and anyone who thinks so is as delusional as the people calling him a savior in the first place. The kid’s a mobile Jacory Harris clone.

The only sample size of anything to formulate an opinion on Tate is his highschool tape and if you’re not impressed with that, you’re foolin’ yourself. Kid’s a winner who got lost in the shuffle of QB1 in this years draft and a “generational” talent in Fields.

Jarren is making up for his losses last year by being prepared and impressing.

I know it’s only practice 5, but you can rule N’kosi out. The writings on the wall as you can see from the subliminal messages in the interviews....

Here's a synopsis:

It's an interview with Jarren's HS coach. Jarren doesn't want to talk about last year but the coach knew how frustrated he was that he was never given a shot to prove himself, even when Malik and Kosi were struggling. He did gain about 30 lbs last year and seriously contemplated putting in for a transfer in late fall. CMR and Jon talked him out of it. He didn't really want to leave but he didn't want to continue to sit and be frustrated.

He was prepped to be the #2 guy for the pinstripe Bowl - Kosi was not going to play as discipline. He was told he would get in the game. The CMR put Kosi in and Jarren, as we know, got no snaps. That's when he came the closest to leaving. In the words of his coach - 'closer than close". He had numerous schools who had offered him in HS keeping track of him last year - not just Ohio State and Kentucky. Coach intimated there were numerous other Power 5 schools also interested. Williams was one of the first calls Diaz made when he took the job and promised that he would be able to come in fresh and get a fair shot. Williams chose to believe him.

New offensive coordinator Dan Enos hasn’t asked him to change anything at all in his mechanics and said he was really impressed by his footwork, his arm and how much time he’s been spending in the building during his off time.

“The main thing with Coach Enos I heard from him in terms of my mechanics is when we get to the top of our drops, just drop my shoulder and step up in the pocket,” Williams said.

The only thing that has challenged him thus far, Williams said, has been learning the terminology in Enos’ offense.

He’s also getting used to relaying play calls in the huddle and taking snaps under center. In high school, Williams relayed plays off signals from the sideline and took nearly all of his snaps in the shotgun.

“I’ve done it, but I’ve never really done it in the game,” Williams said of being under center. “I’ve always been in the spread. So, it’s been fun taking those different drops and doing those different hand offs and just learning and getting better and preparing for that next level.

Bottom line: kid is all in on winning the job

Thanks for the synopsis of the article. I too could not read the entirety of it due to no subscription.

Excellent article. Didnt like this line though...

"He took Coach Diaz for his word that he'd have a clean slate, a fair shot to win the job", Wofford (high school coach) said. "So, he wants to give it a shot through Spring".

Give it a shot "through Spring"?!? So he is already in the mindset that if he doesn't win the starting job he is out? I sure hope not as it takes one hit for a #2 to become the guy, and if Tate gets the nod, Id rather have Williams as 2 than any of the others. I dont know any other way to interpret that quote though. Then again, theres a strong chance a starter is not decided on by the end of Spring.

Yeah that doesn’t sound good at all given he already had a foot out the door last season. I wonder if he’s kept in contact with other schools. Can a player even do that? That seems pretty low to me of another school doing that, but I’ve heard worse before. As you stated, I don’t believe that a final decision will be made by Soring as Enos probably wants to see who of the 3 takes his workout regiment for them and tans with it over the Summer months. That, and who’s working out with the other guys on their own.

Seems a little tentative reading between the lines on the Spring timeframe.
I know, that Enos and Manny may be very aware of this feeling, so we may not be in the room, but that talk may have already been done.
My pure speculation.

LOL at our fans. This dude’s calling himself a Tate homer like a 12 year old girl yacking about Zayn being her favorite member of One Direction. How about being a UM homer and just wanting the best QB to play?

Yeah. That HS Coach should quit being an obnoxious ****. Either you’re all in or you’re out. It’s hard to take a guy seriously who always seems to have one foot out the door.

I agree. As a matter of fact I thought he was really impressive at last year's spring game at stadium and felt he had a legitimate shot to be the starting QB to start the season. CMR messed up that idea.

**** NO, its called managing your roster, cmr did what was best for jarren and the qb situation, jarren wasnt ready and he thinks he's ready now, time will tell. Alot of yall same people would've been saying out the other side of yalls mouth, why did cmr blow his redshirt for only 5 or 6 games. The True qb competition was always going to be this year is what coach richt envisioned. But once jarren started his pouting/crybaby antics, he had to be dealt with as well. If jarren doesn't win the job this year, he seems like a good candidate to be put in this category:

It's great to actually have a QB competition with actual QBs.

And actual coaches who are actually holding an actual competition and not just saying there is a competition, but not really giving any one any reps other than the guy that they have predetermined will win the job.

Glad this Mueller thing is finally over so that the nation can, at last, shift it's attention to where it rightfully belongs..., investigating Richt's criminal mismanagement of the QB position during the 2018 calendar year.

Let the best man win the job, and for once we actually have reason to have confidence that the best man will win the job. I honestly don't care who at this point.

Look man, you should really start using your brain more once you start typing, you making absolutely no sense, on one hand you praising the first loser in transfer tate, but calling him a winner because of what he did in highschool, but than you go on to disrespect perry and j70 a.k.a. jacory harris by comparing the two, if you sweating tate and calling him a winner for what he did in highschool, th as n their is no way you can disrespect javory cause not to many can say they had a highschool career like jacory. Dont be a clown man, you sac riding guys that havent played more games than perry. IDGAF who the qb is at UM, if they are responsible for helping to beat FSU, they'll always get respect from me, unless they gaytor tainted qb's.

Man proof read your post to make sure they make sense before posting and wake the **** up!

Who knows if that “through the spring“ comment actually came from Jarren or just that cūnty coach who’s embellishing.

I have no horse in this race, there is no favorite for me. But I would NOT take seriously what a losing high school coach says. Isn’t this coach the guy that had losing records when Jarren was there?

Not that it makes any huge difference, but Tate actually does come from a winning program and won all his HS games, and Jarren has never quarterbacked a winning football team.

In the end, I think that aspect may not be relevant, I think Enos is going to pick the best quarterback to give us the best chance of victory against Florida on the 24th, but sometimes it’s just better if these high school coaches keep their mouth shut

I’m pulling for Tate, but am no way shape or form a “sac rider” and telling me to proofread my
post when you have about 38 spelling errors in yours speaks for itself. Rosier beat FSU, so is he on a pedestal in your eyes as well? Listen man... I’m in the same boat as you, I’m desperate for a UM reinessance in which my outlook has a different blueprint than yours. The overall mission is the same and I’m not some idiot you claim me to be. Don’t look at my post number/ sign on date and assume I’m a moron.
