I’ll admit I was that guy in the stands for this years home games screaming,” 15 is the black Chad Pennington.” “Dink and dunk Jedi master.” Boy was I wrong. The two touch down throws to 4 and 8 were things of beauty. So, my question is has he been doing his shoulder shrugs the last 3 weeks or was enos holding him Back? Discuss.

he had time to stop into his throws for the first time in his career.

His arm is still weak and his deep and out routes are his weakness. Teams who game plan to make him use his arm can benefit from that strategy

Now just add some designed qb runs out of pass calls. Gotta have the D account for that threat as well. Jarren is like 6’4 solid build and wheels. Use it!!!

He doesn’t have a weak arm, as ive been saying it’s all about his mechanics not being right on some of the deep throws early in the season. On that perfect pass to dee Wiggins which was about 50 yards from where he threw it he didn’t even necessarily step into that throw but it still was perfect. Jarren has the arm to make those throws. One of the most impressive throws from Jarren today was when he was straying to the left and dropped a dime to mike Harley

I think he won the job by taking care of the ball, and felt that was what the coaches were looking for. Worried that mistakes on deep passes could lose him the job, so he played it safe.

Come the VT game, Enos and CMD emphasize to him all the missed opportunities, so he tries to push the ball while dealing with a hurt shoulder. Pure speculation based off how he's played in game, combined with coaches interviews. He's always had the ability.

When the same dozen mopes here regurge the same bull**** rhetoric a thousand times a day, fiction starts to feel like fact.

The Jarren arm strength myth was one of those group think chants.
His arm strength is an issue based on how he likes to play. Several DC’s pointed that out. He is a floater and soft touch deep thrower.

Most of it is his technique when he throws a pass more than 15 yards in which he losses tremendous velocity verse the power in his short range passes (slant for example)

Love seeing him shotgun. I hope we don’t go back to the under center 22-step drop back until we have mastered it.

He may not have a cannon but when he has time he can make any throw necessary to run any offense. And he’ll do it accurately.

He’ll never play for an OC who says “Dont run this play, I don’t think Jarren can deliver the ball there.”

It is not about can he make the throws is the velocity. If your a DC you will sit on those deep routes and force him to make the throw. V tech for example did that and he struggled.

In the previous games before V Tech you could see where he could be exposed. One problem is technique and the other is just him be late on throws.

The difference between Perry and Williams is that Perry throws the ball before the player makes his break. Williams throws it after the break

I think part of the issue is that this is Jarren's first season as a starter, you can't expect his mechanics to be perfect right off the bat. Another part is that his offensive line was the worst in the FBS just as he was given his opportunity, giving him happy feet and affecting his decision-making. It's amazing how much better a QB looks when the offensive line is serviceable, let alone good.

Also moved his launch point on a few throws for the first time it seems.

Hes still making throws that will in fact get picked off eventually (had at least 3 dropped INTs yesterday ), and he did take a critical sack and lost a fumble in good field position.

But honestly, that's the best hes looked all season and it was in arguably the biggest game of the season. Plus, he made the big plays when they counted.

Big time performance. I'll take it.

This is a throw from Pitt but it was incredibly difficult considering a defender jumping right at you in your face in a clutch moment too. His accuracy jumps off the screen. He threw a ball Like that to Jeff Thomas in the 4th quarter today too that probably should have went for a td if he kept running

This is what I think as well. Had enough time yesterday to use sound mechanics. He doesn't have the arm Perry has, but with his accuracy and sound technique he throws daggers.
