Maybe. All we've ever needed is a Trent Dilfer, I'm just glad we're getting the W's for once. I think the more laughable implication is comparing last year's defense (while pretty good) to an incredibly dominant defense like that 2000 Ravens team, but we each have our own agenda. I just don't think that 2000 Ravens team would allow Kelly Bryant and Scott Hornibrook to play pitch and catch like they did against us.

Everyone can point to Rosier, but the defense wasn't without fault at times either.

How about that 21 point second quarter by the wefence against Wisconsin? Clemson anyone? Countless can't get stops against sad offenses? FSU?

It is a team game and yes, I would put the play of the defense ahead of the offense on the season. Just barely as both ran very hot or cold. I have questions about both sides of the ball, mostly coaching questions, and hopefully they address them this year.

I said they need to keep each other accountable, and what he said wasn’t a malicious attack but at the same time you try not to put too much out in the media.

Don’t forget the 0-14 run uva went on and then after the offense tied it up the defense went down again by 14 points making the score 14-28 uva. For as much people like to say the defense bailed the offense out, the offense might have bailed the defense out even more so last season. Don’t forget after giving the defense leads in the FSU game multiple times the defense gave up 2 tds late in that game too(on knowles obviously) but still

I keep seeing this since stated...but its kind of overrated. Seeing as he is a qb...Its literally mandatory to watch film. Like you meet EVERY DAY with your position coach to watch film. Dude is likely talking about on his own when at his dormroom/house, typically 3rd string qbs wont be geared up to watch film again since they aint playing.

I wasn't trying to imply that the defense was comparable to the 2000 Ravens but I could see why you would view it that way. I do think it's hilarious that Malik is credited for the 10 wins like he's Aaron Rodgers on the Packers though. Every single time there's a Malik discussion/debate, the argument is HE won "us" 10 games instead of the team won 10 games. In regards to your last sentence, the Ravens definitely wouldn't of allowed those QBs to do that but they also wouldn't allow Malik to even be on their practice squad.

What do you want man? Somebody always gets the credit and somebody the blame, fair or not. fsu and GT were won on 4th Q drives, and like it or not those get credited to the QB. Even if he's just handing off, he's still running the show.

Rosier's completion percentage against fsu was 43%, which is absurd. Completely deplorable. But...when the chips were down he made the plays we needed to win.

As for the Ravens, that D was so ridiculous the QB only needed to get into FG range a few times a game. We're asking a bit more out of our QB than that.

My front runner for 2018 scapegoat of the year is Manny Diaz. If we'd returned our DTs we'd have had a top 5 defense going into the 2018 season. Nesta/Willis might be better than Norton /McIntosh so maybe it works out.

People can complain about dts all they won’t but they tend to forget Norton and McIntosh started with little experience when Diaz and richt first took over for the 2016 season. Same thing will happen this year, no matter who we put in at dt(we have talent for sure there) they will produce regardless because how our defense plays. One thing I think We will better at is pass rushing on the inside with any combination of Willis and then one of the dts bethel, ford, Silvera, Tito and djack who was effective there last year.

1. Defense doesn’t win championships anymore. Look no further than the playoffs last year. A good defense can get you there but you have to put up points.
2. Rarely can a freshman QB say “I got this” and obliterate competent competition.

Literally no one is acting like that. I'm not sure what you're problem is with Malik, but I hope you get over it or you'll be pretty miserable this season when he's out there and we're winning.

However, the second I say that the movie was poorly directed, it's only one person that is being addressed.......the movie director!

Malik is clearly the movie director in this analogy. If Johnson said that tackling needs to improve, that can be anyone on of the defense; need to block better......anyone on offense; need to pass better.....clearly that can only be one person!

Who else was missing throws? Was Shaq missing throws in the Pitt game? What about Donaldson? He didn't need to call him out by name it was painfully obvious who he is referring too. Rosier and Sheriffs is who he called out.

He stated the obvious about Pitt. “We missed tnrows”

Which is not controversial or a “calling out” it’s just a fact. Something Richt and others have stated verbatim several times.

He also mentioned other factors such as the defense, not finishing, etc in response to the Pitt game. It was a perfectly good and realistic answer.

He’s not calling out Malik, he’s just stating facts. If you actually watch, from his demeanor, I don’t take it as a calling out, just a realistic overview.

Much ado about nothing.

Nesta/Willis/Ford/Bethel is a very good 2 deep. Most teams in the nation would suck us off for it actually.
