After Kim English was fired at Providence, @Da_Lucky_One speculated that Jamier might hit the portal and would be an ideal fit for Miami. Originally from Florida and nearly 40% from 3.

Honestly, I am enjoying the season and I am not focused on next season at all. I only posted this because Jamier Jones is a Florida kid who had a good season at Providence. With Kim English being fired, he could enter the portal and look to play at another school for 2026-27.
He is similar to Sheldon Henderson in build but like Sheldon, they both need to work on improving their jump shot.
In the Jai Lucas system build on length, defense, rebounding and fast break points, he does fit the mold of the type of player for his system.

I was looking forward to seeing Miami play USF next season. That hasn't changed my thoughts even though the coaching change will drastically change their roster next season.
Now, I want to see if Jamier Jones and Oswin Erhunmwunse enters the transfer portal.
Right now, Oswin would be the best option to replace Udeh Jr if he enters the portal.
Jones is a FL kid who fits the mold of the team and he hit 39% of his 3 pt attempts last season

Well Jai openly stated he wants Florida guys, preferably from Miami, out of the portal. Going to get a serious look.

Jamier Jones from Providence would be a better fit.
With 3 scholarships left, finding a C to replace Udeh Jr is priority #1 from a roster construction standpoint.

Jones has been outstanding, and likely the most impactful frosh PC has had since LaDontae Henton averaged 14.3 points and 8.6 boards in the 2011-12 season. He’s certainly the most explosive this century.

Jones was benched for apparently not following the scouting report on a Jeremiah Williams drive late in the second half. He then followed that up with a turnover.
