He said his mom didn't have a REAL ID in order to make the visit with him....

Aye….it could be true. She may not have a drivers license, and most of the kids we recruit are not from families that’s got enough money to be traveling across the globe, so she ain’t got no passport. Idk their exact financial situation, but I know real people in this country that don’t have what’s considered a “real ID”, with a picture on it🤷🏾‍♂️. She probably needed a picture ID to travel with him, and didn’t have one. It happens man.

"real ID" is the newer licenses with a star in the corner of it. Without is you cant fly even domestically

U can still fly, but it can come w complications or major delays (as they have to verify it’s u 🤷🏾‍♂️). Not sure how long they’re making exceptions w/ traditional licenses, but my boy still flies w/o his real ID, but he has to go through another vetting process, so he usually arrives 4-5 hrs b4 check in.

Also, u can use a passport in lieu of a real ID

This is his first visit via plane since they made this mandatory like a month ago??? lol

Feeling very “salute the hoot” about this recruitment

Yes, but if you have a passport, it is very easy to get a REAL ID (documentation-wise).

Now, if the reason is "don't want to wait at the DMV"...

Went to Vegas last week and lost my ID. The hastle was real, but their is wiggle room for negotiation still. In some cases they just issue a warning.
