Because we didn’t maximize him on the field while he was here (at UM). Is that selfish by fans? Sure but it’s also true.

he wouldnt have played it here.

He wouldve been at UGA had they sold him at that position or attemped it. Hes only playing it now because the NFL is the last stop.

James is a tweener...but could look good in situations at lb and may have went to the right team that may allow him to do certain things..he can blitz pretty good....hes not natural scraping or shooting gaps..but he can run stuff down backside and play special teams.

If he can remain healthy he could have aa ray ray armstrong like career. I think ray ray made close to 6mill in nfl earnings and likely made pension. Thats life changing for james and his family.

I’m not sure if anyone actually watched the game but he came in and had like two tackles against guys I’ve never even heard of and I follow SF pretty closely

He was not a good safety here. When it looked right it looked great. He’d make a tackle most people would make but it looked like NFL guys do when he’d make it. But he was very clearly always playing the wrong position and if him staying was contingent on playing the wrong position it’s a tough look on Manny and Mario.

Was he playing out of position? Maybe. But he was one of the 2 best safety’s on the roster last year? Answer is for sure, calling him not a good safety is a stretch.

It's not that he wasn't good it's that he was an idiot. I wouldn't mind if he came back and played opposite Powell this year.
 
A 5 star player who went in the 6th round. He certainly didn’t live up to the hype but you knew a team would give him a chance on physicals alone. Wish him the best

Dude, funk a naysayer on this guy. He did the best he could for him and his fam with all he knew.

We all know this guy is a high tier modern nickel-backer.

What he lacks in box-stuff is greatly outweighed by his range and length.
