James Williams (Surgery)

To be clear, season ending injuries typically aren't because of "soft" practices.

You're joints, muscles, ligaments don't get stronger because you smash more often.
Usually its due to S&C program and/or just the general taking care of the body post practice/game and throughout the week.

Biggest reason why injuries happen more often, FLEXIBILITY. I've always told my guys that I coach that yoga is very underrated for football.

The twist and jabs and bangs aren't as bad if your body can contort.
Also, poor technique when it come to tackling or running the ball or blocking etc. leads to more likelihood of injuries. JW is a great player but he chicken wings a lot, ala Bubba Bolden, meanwhile Kam Kitchens is a more fundamental tackler.

I think poor technique and flexibility or more attributed to why we got all these injuries.

Agree. To the extent this is related to something off-field, it's S&C, not Greentree.

Yoga. This should be a couple times a week during season, minimum.

@Cribby now speak your peace lol
don't tell me it's one of those instances where they forced Williams to play through an injury, because (and I'm not claiming this to be true whatsoever) I read somewhere that this was the case with Stevenson. And we know they did it with King.

Wrong thread I know but did not want to start a new thread but is Tyrique to the NFL next year a done deal or is there a possibility that he sticks around for another year?

It’s been said that he is more than likely to stick around for another year

Sorry if my post came off in any way against you... was not the intent at all. Crib made a few posts in the last week about a player on defense needing surgery and the medical staff, and that was before the game. Was more a comment on chalk another one up that he called when there are folks on the board who kick a gift horse in the mouth.
I said “ a big part of the secondary“ bro lol , but thanks for the shout out dude . I know some folks appreciate the info.

It’s all about his draft grade. Imo 1-2 round would be the only way he leaves.

Sooo you'd rather them get hurt in practice instead of the game?
As strange as it seems I believe that tough practices do toughen up a body. Sure there will be some injuries but in the long term a body that is beaten tends to heal faster and withstand punishment better. There will always be freak injuries regardless but teams with hard practices do not suffer a higher rate of injuries than teams that have soft practices. What you do see is teams with hard practices are much more physical during games than teams that don’t.
