James Wiggins

Illinois is a good landing spot for him and Champaign is a pretty great college town. Good luck to him.

The thing here is we'll never know the truth. All we'll get is hearsay and conjecture. That's how recruiting works.

- If the coaches ignored the kid like he claims and didn't call to confirm/cancel his visit....that is unfortunate and NOT the way to run a program. I would never take Richt as the type who would do that, but in the world of recruiting i would never say good guys don't do stupid things.
- If the coaches were slow playing the kid because they are still trying to evaluate things and weren't sure to keep/drop Wiggins....that seems feasible. But there still should have been open communication.
- If someone did tell the kid they were going in another direction and he's just getting his media time.....well that wouldn't be surprising either.

The dark side of recruiting goes both ways. Kids commit and ***** coaches/schools last minute, so schools feel they can do the same to kids....and vice versa. That's the business. The only way to fix the problem is have an early signing period, maybe Oct/Nov?

I like Wiggins. Good luck to him (I will wish luck to kids that really wanted to be here). Going to assume that we have players on deck we like more. Hope we can reel them in.
