We got the wrong Wiggins!

At what positions!
Not sure how much credit he gets for all these, but we did put lower ranked guys in the pros more often under Golden, than under the Richt/Diaz regime.

Some good finds by that team at
RB: Gus Edwards and Zach Moss were low ranked guys now in the NFL
Safety: Rayshawn Jenkins has way out performed his ranking, Redwine is a starter on the Browns, and higher ranked guys like Deon and Jamal Carter and JJ panned out (wiggins was another safety golden special that looks like it would have panned out)
LB: Eddie Johnson came out of nowhere, Armbrister played in the NFL, Grace and Perryman (I know perryman wasn't all golden, but still much more LB talent in the golden years than the Diaz years)
TE: Herndon, Walford, and Njoku in the golden years. A bunch of 2 star guys.
OL: We absolutely had better OLs in the golden years, Richt's early years were horrible misses that have set up the OL as our worst position group the last 2 years. Can't remember everyone but Linder sticks out as low ranked guy now in the NFL.
CB: corn, Michael Jackson was a golden special

More under the radar NFL talent on those squads. Makes our poor records in those years even more obviously due to poor in game coaching and motivation.

I am worried about the lack of players like this on our recent teams. For the first time, our Defense is all Diaz's guys, and if we didn't hit the transfer portal for Roche Phillips and Bolden our Defense would be atrocious and not just mediocre. We have had consistency on the defensive side of the ball and brought in full defensive classes over the last 4 years and still have serious depth issues and a lack of NFL caliber players.

Richt blew it locally the first year. He gets somewhat of a pass because he came in late. But we didn't pursue Zack Moss, James Wiggins and Josh Uche even though they were all on the radar.
Golden was really a better talent evaluator than given credit for, hit on a lot of 3 star guys over the years especially in that 2015 draft class and then had impact players committed to richts first class and that’s not even mention the studs like moss, wiggins, uche in that class either

O-line guys was because of art kehoe, that's where coach richt went wrong, choosing stacy over kehoe was the wrong move, but coach richt was kind of in payback mode. You are absolutely correct about the linebacker talent, I'm glad you brought that up, been saying it for the last few days, people for some reason want to keep bashing coach rumph as well, but it's the diaz scheme that keeps keeping cb's and linebackers away, in the penn disgrace morons defense, linebackers we're essential and was an easier "sell".

But in coach diaz's/baker scheme, it's more predicated on the safeties and d-linemen, which is why they're flocking here for now, but cb's and linebackers are not, which is why if coach shannon was brought back to be the d-co, all 4 phases of the defense is used properly.

The penn disgrace morons did a solid job in recruiting, but their idiotic system was never going to work here. Also keep in mind, those morons had a 5 year run, if you got jeff stoutland followed up by coach kehoe, you'll definitely start getting real o-line talent on a regular.

Coach richt had a better eye for elite talent, and if he had the energy to stay, that would've continued to shine thru. In 3 short years, Ahmon, jt4, brevin, jock rousseau, deejay dallas, homer, garvin, joe jackson, jade, for now!

Let’s stop the golden **** riding. Yeah he got some low ranked guys into the league. But that was about it man. Richt was a corpse here. The south Florida recruiting are him alive. To coach at Miami you need to land those kids who are major front runners. At Georgia you got the kids there who worship ugay. Richt couldn’t handle it.
