2026 James "JJ" Johnson 4* DT from Northwestern via Ft Myers Flips to Texas From UGA

Funny, I was told a few days ago that I was wrong when I said that with Teddy Bridgewater as the HC at the West, we were screwed. I was told that Teddy is a Cane, even though he ***** on us back in the day and threw up the upside down U and broke it, as well as giving us the throat slash.

If J.J. and Russell both crap on Mario, I think that we’ll know for sure. The proof is in the pudding.
Your on to something here...no one wants to address the white elephant in the room. If we think TB is aiding us in any way, we are delusional.

99.9% of the schools won’t even spend 0.05% of that money on NIL. They just don’t believe in NIL that much to cave into it and use school allocated resources for it. That’s why alot of these SEC boosters are questioning why they have to keep forking over money when there is the rev share money and the coaches are telling them that money isn’t just for the football program it’s for all programs and the university as well.
Using NIL was the incorrect term. The revenue share will pay players though. Thats a large part of what it’s for. This whole thing is meant to discourage basically “pay for play” and the ever growing Wild West NIL. The rev share has to be approved and fair but also, all NIL deals, which are separate from rev share, will now have to go through a clearinghouse with Deloitte. Those deals have to be approved and within what Deloitte deems, fair market price. If they are denied and still accepted by the player, which can happen, they will then go to arbitration.

I'll wait until next class to make that decision. If we get crapped on by lawrence and lennear then I will start to buy into that some.

When it smells like a rat, looks like a rat, acts like a rat, it' a rat. You do not have to wait till the rat hits you over the head with a baseball bat to believe its a rat. TB has history and a bone with Miami, at every turn he has shown this, how much more proof do you need ? I personally, hope he continues to have success at The West. One for a storied school, program and the kids. Two, so he can move on to bigger and better things.

1000% we will continue not to reach the top if DT recruiting stays like it has been. It would be a waste to get all these other good players and be pedestrian at recruiting DTs. You can forget about beating good teams and dominating regular teams with subpar DT talent. Thats a position you have to stack with elite talent.
Our DL was absolutely CARRIED by Barrow last year. No disrespect to him but he wasn’t even the best portal transfer DL on his own team

The need for Justin Scott and Jones to be hits can’t be overstated

I get everything you're saying. This is RECRUITING tho. and we all know Mario is the biggest HOMER ever.... even sometimes to a fault. You don't think he's doing everything he can to keep those kids home? I don't see how something can be considered unacceptable if you're putting in maximum effort already.
It is about the results, not the effort. Let's close him.

Like others have accurately pointed out. Johnson is not a West kid or a South Florida kid. He's from NJ. Lets calm down a bit. If you think TB has THAT much sway over kids you're reaching, big time.

Like 20 pages worth in one of the Calvin Russell threads.

People are not saying that "we tried hard and at least we are at the table" with Calvin Russell. If somebody did, point out the specific posts.

Mario is making the effort. The family may still choose not to send a legacy son to the same school where his mother is in the Sports Hall of Fame. No excuses are being made. For people that are interested in why this failure might happen, it's a fair topic of discussion.

But absolutely no excuses are being made, and nobody is rationalizing "at least we were at the table".

Failure is failure. Not sure why it is a bad thing for people to ask about the reasons. No excuses.

why is it a "failure"? Is it a failure that my wife and I couldn't convince either of our two kids to go to GTown? Or maybe, these kids want different things and don't give a crap about "legacy". these kids aren't Stepford kids. They have a mind of their own and some just won't be swayed.

I couldn't care less to take the time to go pull receipts, but there were multiple posts in that thread of people saying the same old **** when we don't get a kid we went all-out for.

"He doesn't wanna come here, what are we supposed to do, we tried our hardest we just couldn't get him" blah blah. And then there's always the secret stuff everyone knows, of course, but won't talk about as to why it's OK said recruit isn't coming. It's just copy and paste whenever we whiff on high ranked recruits.

I haven't seen much of that in this particular thread, although I haven't really read a ton. But that Russell thread is full of it. You either sign the kid or you don't. Literally not one single thing else matters.

Facts! I don’t know why anyone would think that a dude that has never shown us any love would be aiding us in the recruitment of his players.

Exactly. When somebody shows you who they are, believe them.

Does Mario ever fail to you?

It's a "failure" because that's the word that cway and other people choose to use. It's a failure because it failed to happen.

Were you and your wife hired to the tune of $8M per year primarily because you're expected to convince your kids to choose GTown?

the NIL clearinghouse is gonna last about a day until someone files for and receives an injunction.
