Have most people not been in a multi- party bid situation at some point in their lives? Bids get upped. People drop out. The buyer (recruit in this case) gets new info, gets new advice, gets a sweeter deal, sends false signals to improve position etc.

Also since there is ongoing action between the parties GA had lots of incentive to recover their position after looking weak with Cantrell.

those are whales. You need to land at least one and then you have a championship level position.

You cant recruit this postion good one year and that's it.

I am holding out hope that by the end of the year Miami is able to flip one of these guys.

100. I’ve been in sales my whole life so none of this is surprising. Everything is a negotiation and nothing is final till it’s signed.

Yes that could be totally true. Yet we are going against teams with money and recent tradition. They do not want to lose multiple battles and develop a narrative. They are gonna get their's. So one week out kid can say yup am in with Miami, then rival school says fk it back up the Brinks. Pretty sure we may have done the same where their writers are all confident a week out, then boom.
 
DL should be number one position of priority over OL. You can’t win a ship without it. Not even with an Elise OL. Mario needs to prioritize DL over OL. We need to pay for this position if we are to win our sixth ship.

Cantwell for JJ
Spafford/Wyman/Cooper for the RB we are recruiting whos name i can't remember now and probably someone else i'm forgetting.

At least I know that he will be disruptive and improve my chances of stopping the RB before he gets into full stride, and he will throw off the timing of the passing play so I have a chance versus the receiver.

They are both critical but in different functions. A mike has majority of his value pre snap. Without his analysis and dialogue a defense more often than not will be lost. Now when you factor in actual gameplay and value a edge, lber & DB would all tell you, your defense is reliant on that dt. A DB is entirely dependant on line play as a whole to play at your peak. For the reasons you mentioned and far more it's not even a debate with me. Just my opinion though. I played with some monster tackles between us & NFL. I know what we as a defense faced with them opposed to without them it's not even comparable.
