2026 James "JJ" Johnson 4* DT from Northwestern via Ft Myers Flips to Texas From UGA

Trying to explain to my Longhorn (I live in Austin) friends that Johnson, Dia Bell, Cooper aren't worth the bags they're throwing at them is currently a losing cause
Likewise to my son (my wife and I live in Austin as well). How if Texas is not careful they are going to end up with an NFL level payroll if they are throwing out ridiculous sums to incoming freshmen.

Let's say Cooper gets $3M. What about UT's returning running backs? Are they prepared to up the salary for them?

Then let's go with UT's wide receivers. In the NFL, star wide receivers outearn running backs. It stands to reason that the receivers of the Longhorns would also want something similar to what Cooper obtained.

And then for the next five star running back that Texas goes after in 2027...$3M is now the absolute floor for an NIL offer.

How is Texas going to be able to launder all this money they are committing to paying when every NIL contract has to be approved by NILGo?

Texas has more money than god, they don’t care.

This whole fearful line of thinking is the Miami way. The simple solution that many teams have figured out is that it doesn't ******* matter. Pay who needs to be paid and move the **** on. The Haves and Have Nots are the only things that matter. Either you pay or you try to budget and come up short.

It's illegal for the NCAA to punish Texas for signing athletes to NIL deals I'm pretty sure (as it is and will continue to be in many other states), so I imagine nothing happen.

Okay, then let's offer Cooper $25M tonight, as well as 5% of 2025 football revenue. The former is guaranteed for four years, with automatic 25% increases each year.

Throw caution to the wind!

and had to get a "rebuilding" clemson to even get to arizona state.

they had a easy path last year and aint win.
hes never been a great college, he just stockpiles talent. I thought uga was bailed out by refs alot last year but they have been great for a decade and put so many good players in nfl.
