Looking back at Monday's debacle it's blatantly clear that offensive play-calling was the soul issue for an embarrassing loss, to a very beatable ACC opponent. People love to sit on these forums and bash Head Coach Al Golden. I will admit he is partly to blame. Mainly because he is responsible for hiring James Coley, and allowing him to call plays.

When a stout Miami defense forces 2 turnovers within the opponents 10 yard line and the offense fails to score... YOU WILL NOT WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME. That simple. When Coley decided to let Brad Kaaya air it out there were solid gainers and generally positive results. The "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality would've done wonders for our offensive performance in this ball game.

Early on Kaaya & Clive Walford hooked up twice leading to a quick scoring drive. Then immediately after that success, we returned to the "1st down screen, 2nd down run, 3rd down **** it" sort of play-calling we've become all too familiar with.

If Golden wants to regain respect from the Hurricane community he needs to do one of two things:

Option 1: Fire Coley.

Option 2: Relieve Coley of all offensive play-calling privileges, and relegate him to strictly recruiting. (which he's pretty good at)

Agree? Disagree? Tell me about it.

Sincerely, The Tr U th

Golden oversees the gameplan...if he didn't like it in practice/camp, why'd he clear it?

Great point. Let's assume for arguments sake he did like it. after Monday's drubbing he'd presumably realize he has to go back to the drawing board on offense. Have a talk with Coley, study the tape vigorously, toss around some fresh ideas, and nip this whole fiasco right in the bud. At least that's what I hope would happen. Let's sit back and watch, while I continue to play devils advocate. I pray I'm right, and I hope that you do too hisuleiman.

We blame Coley but DL were trying to take handoffs from Kayaa because off how deep they were in the backfield.

Golden said we should have opened it up...doesn't that tell you he's handcuffing them ???? he(coley) clearly wasn't this conservative last year

Miami pays Coley $500k/yr. no way they can afford him at another position and hire a new OC...

People fail to realize that Golden is the one that came up with the game plan. At any point he could have walked over to Coley and said air it out or open it up.

And it continues. He Is The Head Coach. Take some **** responsibility. And our D was better than the atrocity of the past few years but stout is kinda a strong word for it. Far from it. Got pick a part at different times in the game and ran over late. Coley is a problem, the decline of Morris is on him. Not great but no help from Coley as we saw Fisch did with him and Jacory. Stop blaming people. We have seen what Golden is about. He is not going to get another 2 years to claim new system and young kids

When he sees 8 or 9 guys in the box and that we've run it in there 4 times already with no success, he needs to be say wtf James.

More Groundhog Day nonsense. Same stuff every time a HC sucks. Blame this assistant. Blame that assistant. Fire this coordinator. Fire that coordinator.

Year 4. Same ****. HC needs to go.
