If this kid went to the U does he get drafted? After that Russel Athletic Bowl, I would have never imagined he would have gone undrafted a couple of years later

Is this question serious? There's no bonus points for having a U on the side of the helmet when the draft comes around.

Edit: I was thinking of another player.

Burgess got knocked by the nfl because of his size and physicality. For all the downfalls of the previous staff and scheme they would have had him playing bigger and more physically. With this and the reputation of Miami putting out quality LB, I believe he at least gets drafted.

Yeah, and we are geniuses.

I think we need to make a list of all guys that weren't drafted but our fans were butt hurt about not getting.

His dline helped, linebackers looked good with savage dl in front of them same as the secondary. Its why alabama guys run around free and look good but then most of them suck come nfl time

Yea playing behind Sheldon Rankins and devonte fields would make a lot of people look good but I don't agree with bama backs sucking at all. There's a couple of MLB's named Dont'a Hightower, Rolando McClain, and C.J Mosley that disagree with you on that

Weaknesses
Small for the position with questionable play toughness. Lack of physicality against the run showed up with 12 broken tackles and 32 missed tackles during three years as starter. Lacks decisiveness and play strength in attacking runs between the tackles. Run around linebacker losing gap leverage because of it. Too easily engulfed by linemen. Able to flow quickly to the ball when he diagnoses it, but his instincts are marginal at best. Will go under blocks and lose pursuit angles. Average awareness in space as zone defender.

He certainly kicked our a$$ when we played them.

Those are some pretty significant weaknesses, but I didn't see them when he made a career against UM.

Didn't he have a significant drop-off when they brought back Petrino and he installed a different defense? I remember him being all world at first and then never heard from him the last couple of years.

More than likely he is too small according to the coaches and just have to prove himself. Similar Striker. Guys just have to keep working. I'm sure both will make rosters and eventually become controbutors.

He had roughly 80 tackles this year. Size questions and I wouldn't bet against him.

No those guys are good Alabama is a factory right now

James Burgess only weakness is his size , he is better suited for a down hill SS role in the NFL just like Jermaine Grace.... Other than that he hit harder than most linebackers no matter how big.

Dont'a yes
Rolando please dude this guy is marginal
CJ is a Raven but he had a average year last year.

I'll need more names than those three you mentioned.

Yup that right there is why he will be going pro in another line of work.

if you think Rolando is marginal then you need to go see how bad the Cowboys were when he wasn't on the field and CJ made a pro bowl so your average comment has no weight.
