Watched Iowa, PSU, Oregon, and OSU games for Indiana. This kid was picked on. They have really good linebackers that help drop in coverage for those short to intermediate routes. Play action leaves this kid on an island and he gives up plays.

They keep 3 LBs on the field often because one is a sort of hybrid. I’ve watched a ton of these people. Man, I don’t know. You know I’ve watched everything from each playoff team we’ve faced. I don’t see the basis for the suddenly freakish hype. They could have just as well lost to a PSU team that basically had one offensive player.

#21 looks physically like a hybrid, but in the games I’ve watched #4 is good in coverage. Gets excellent depth and overall solid. I don’t know his measurables - probably 6’ 225. Moves well and clean steps, though. #21 appears faster, but they have him moving downhill a bunch.

I’d love to see all of these guys face 4WR instead of Bauman in the slot, but that’s a separate thread.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see all three make an NFL practice squad. Those three plus Ponds are the best defenders. Lucky for us we suck at TE and don’t throw RB screens. I hope cooper and McCoy/samson get to work these guys a ton.

I said the same dam thing, like Im not seeing some juggernaut thats gonna scare us from doing what we do.. Now the defensive scheme is LEGIT and ELITE but are they THAT fast and quick that they will make up 30-50 pound difference on the line?! Our offense isnt handicapped like iowa backup QB where you can have all 11 playing down hill for run game.. We are not 95% pass like bama, I am still working thru these games before I say anything.

Ole Miss, offensive philosophy and system made me really think, having 5 guys who all run close to 22 mph made me respect what could happen with tempo and how their QB was a dual threat demon, their Dline has a few guys who you can see will play in league. I respect the opponent and the numbers are legit so its like let me really see first lol..

I see the LBers and Ponds as NFL guys. The DL are a little undersized for the NFL, IMO.
