Highly speculative but I’m curious what y’all think about Jalen Rivers in comparison to the elite folks we’re recruiting.
He’s a third year freshman. Could be here another 3-4 years.
Does he have the talent to survive a few more great OL classes? Do you consider him elite?

I would put him with the 3 guaranteed starters this year. Zion and Jakai I believe are locked in. It will be interesting to see if he’s at G or RT.

He should do well at guard this year. But I think he has the requisite traits to kick out to RT next year which would allow Mauigoa to start out at guard.

The eligibility rules are insane. This dude graduated the same year if hs as me and he technically still has for years of college left and I am halfway done. It’s absurd. As much as I would love to have players stay forever, 24-25 year olds shouldn’t be playing with 18 year olds lol

Its only because the COVID year. Otherwise he'd just be a regular RS freshman

I believe he was graded as our best OL last year in the games he played (if I remember correctly). All Conference type talent at Guard if healthy.

As others have mentioned, curious to see if he can move to RT and give us needed size and length at that spot. He’ll probably be NFL bound before the incoming OL class hits their stride.

I agree that he's a guard, but Cooper and Cohen are clearly guards and Mauigoa is a RT
So have Rivers battle it out with Cohen and Cooper for the guard spots. Thats what the good to elite teams have happen every single year. Then put it out in the portal that the LT job is up for grabs. Look if Rivers ends up being the best options at Tackle, so be it, you gotta do what you gotta do, but it shouldnt be because we already have Cooper and Cohen there.

Is Rivers skillset a good fit for G positions?
