Jalen Julius to take an unofficial visit to UM on August 10

I wouldn't fault anyone for questioning whether Julius is a take based solely on his highlights and not his friendship with Williams. He's clearly fast and an impressive athlete, but most of his highlights are at RB/KR. Tough to tell how he'd project as a WR.

But like I said, if Williams gives the impression that his commitment would be solidified if we offered Julius, then it's a no-brainer. If it wouldn't affect Williams' commitment status, then wait and see how Julius' senior season plays out like we're apparently doing with Sheppard and Fenton.

I think UF offered Julius to try and sway Williams an now they know Williams is solid to Miami so Julius most likely decommitted before they dropped him an it was to late for him to find a good school with room in their 2015 class.

I question that 4.31 sec 40 yd time he is telling everyone about because at the Orlando NFTC he ran a 4.55 sec time and at 175lbs that is something to weigh as a possible con.

His highlights show very good football speed but I would drop a current commit for him, I woud keep him as a Plan C kid.

the kid is electric. anyone that thinks this kid is a plan B, is undervaluing him imho. he would be a wonderful addition to this class. He is RANKED a ESPN top 300 recruit. He is rated 181 nationally by them and a 4*. He is 5'11" tall and runs an electronically timed 10.8 100. A 17 year old running an electronically timed 4.55 40 @ 175 pounds is not slow. He is not undersized. He has offers from Auburn, Tenn, UF, Ol Miss, Penn St. and Miami. He can play multiple positions. He is Miami caliber.

According to the posts above he doesn't have a Miami, but he is coming to U Day anyway Williams. So does he have offer or not is the million dollar question?

Kids an athlete right now with speed. Future versitility as a wr/hb/kr/cb/nickel/s. With a good sr year, kid could end up being a stud. That's a type of football player you want on your team. Look at what Crawford has provided for us with his versatility. Gave us depth last year at rb, that was needed after Duke went down. Now we look loaded at S because he was able to switch now that we are looking good with our rb depth. And if needed he could always switch back if needed for some reason.

Long story short, if the kid wants to be a Cane and is willing to come in as an athlete to be placed where needed. Give him a scholarship on his own merits.

He did perform well in the highlights against Evans less athletic opponents.

The kickoff returns were against Olympia HS and Lake Brantley HS ( Dexter William) against better teams like Apopka HS and Dr Phillips he was run down quickly by teams loaded with D1 talent. I like staff's wait an see approach with him to evaluate how he performs during his Sr year with better talent around which playing at West Orange provides, while still recruiting or showing love as the kids say. In a way he reminds me of former cane Roscoe Parish.

He does give interesting interviews

based of his jr highlights, give him a ship and sort the position later. those were jr highlights. would love to see what he does this year.

I think we should also offer these DEanthony Thomas, Dri Archer type players. They give that extra dynamic. the only problem i have with him is that How many spots do we have a WR. there is no way we take him if we still in the game for ridley and others. Hes a great prospect and Miami caliber IMO but he doesn't want to play CB which we have 0 and other targets then he will not get a ship. i dont see any way possible he ends up in this class.

I agree about offering dynamic players, thats a big reason why I said we should take three backs from day one in this class. Two guys I am big on that can also fit the dri archer category are Javarius Davis and Andrew James the Wisconsin commit from westminster.
