We know the DTs got next but nationally they are not aware YET..

Same with our DEs heading into last season, they got to dominate on the field.. Even in first month of season people were raising eye brows when uf coach said thats better than what we see in sec.

It’s simple, you can’t win consistently and build a real program with recruiting classes in the 30’s & 40’s.

They aren't going to be in the 30s and 40s…And they'll continue to do well in the portal

His last class finished 29th. He’ll probably finish in the 20s again unless the recruiting services start to boost their rankings of the prospects he’s after. Finishing in the 20s is fine and enough to sustain winning if you are hitting on your evaluations and keeping your culture intact.

They rely on the portal but they aren’t portal abusers imo. 23 takes in 2025, 17 takes in 2026.

Brett Biellma went 68-24 at Wisconsin. Harbaugh didn’t need top 5 classes every year to whip OSU four years straight.

IU has the resources and the recent record to finish higher but their staff doesn’t prioritize enough of those players. It is what it is. I still think they’re going to regret letting little Mendoza walk.

Bloomington is no different than Eugene, College Station, Norman, etc

It’s a college town and the quicker ya’ll realize a lot of these kids don’t care about the city they all plan on only spending 3 years in while getting paid, the better off you will be.

Both things are true. The players don’t care because this is a 3-4 business trip and like all of us, a sacrifice of where one lives from 18-22 is unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

But Bloomington also sucks. And the kids who live there have no interest in remaining there after graduation because they know it s*cks. And Bloomington is worse than many college towns. I grew up in Ann Arbor, which but for the weather, is a greater college towns with an educated populace, really good restaurants, fine arts, and sports. I’ve been to Bloomington when my nephew played basketball for IU. Bloomington does not compare to Ann Arbor.
