Jalen Brewster

His HC is Nick Ward.

"I find myself being more of a father in this process....I’m just here to support him through his journey.”
....
"He’s 6-foot-4, 300 pounds and can move like a running back,” Ward said. “He’s so much bigger and so much more athletic than the average defensive tackle. He’s hard to block. Some teams have trouble double teaming him. He’s every bit of that No. 1 ranking. He’s also our fourth down running back. He’s jumping over people. It’s unbelievable. He’s a **** of a player. He’s a talent who doesn’t come around too often.”
Whether Brewster follows in Ward’s footsteps remains to be seen.
But Ward will always be a Hurricane.

Us being the only non-TT school, with USC (whose staff has TTech’s former Dline coach) on the outside looking in, to have an OV locked in now makes more sense lol.

Nice! Just saw this on Coach Ward:

Ward is a native of Dallas and a graduate of Seagoville High School. He has a strong resume that includes being a four-year letterman at the University of Miami. Ward played alongside the likes of Ray Lewis, Reggie Wayne and Ed Reed during his tenure in Miami and he was also a member of the Hurricanes track and field team.

Most importantly played alongside Damione Lewis whilst Mario was a GA. Google says Lewis’ Alma mater is only 60-90 minutes away from Seagoville.

Relationships matter when it comes to recruiting. DLew bringing a lot to the recruiting table in both TX and NC. Don't think folk saw that coming.

**** i forgot all about Jarrid Williams. It’s pitiful to think about the advantages and assists given to Manny @ Miami, because of The U network; yet, he still failed to put in any effort in recruiting.

I can kinda see how that happens if you’re an Xs and Os coordinator and bouncing around every couple years so you don’t get to coach the kids you recruit; still, buddy just built bad habits for himself when he got in the position he always wanted.

Manny at his core has a hubris problem that leaves him to think that he can coach up anyone anywhere to be productive in his defense; and if they’re not, he can scheme around it. A success story like Greg Rousseau only made him double down in his ways.

There was an infamous quote from him/his staff where the belief of the regime was basically ‘Manny could coach three dogs (literal) as LBs towards 100 tackles.’

So glad we’re past that.
