Can’t lose situation here - the sheer volume of talent on football fields throughout Texas can’t be truly comprehended. DLew is there to see this kid play and the result of that will likely be some other kids catch his eye etc etc.

It’s just as much as networking in Texas as it is about landing these kids. To truly break into Texas we have to win those coaches over and really recruit their kids - Florida football is the ish, but Texas football culture is different with how much influence the HC has with who comes into his building (school) (HC is often times paid more than the principal).

RRS: Would you say you’re still solid with Tech?

They do get paid once they commit, but not sure if they owe anything on a decommit. And if they did I imagine the next school picks up the check if you will.

Some schools (ala F$U) pay kids to commit and artificially inflate recruiting rankings and give the false impression of recruiting momentum. They know/expect the kid to decommit. For sure in these cases they keep the bag.

Other schools pay kids to visit and/or not visit other schools. Those bags are kept too. Recruiting has been cleaned up a lot and most of the bags are above the table now w/NIL. But recruiting can still be an dirty business (especially in $EC land).
