Jake Allen

The bigger question is whether 2017 QB Tyler Lytle from California is better than Jack Allen, if so will he commit to Miami.

Go Canes

Here is the problem, is that the recruits are scared of Kayaa and Jack Alison. main reason why FSU didnt sign any QB in 2014 was because no one knew if Winston was going to leave for sure. but they knew they def wasnt going to be starting. so when the knew he was leaving in 2015, they had 3 QBs committed. Lawson Dropped because of Kayaa and Toddy Dropped because of Alison, we really need a QB to fall in love with us for 2017 for them to commit. if Sherrifs pans out we may not even take a QB in 2017 but that doesn't seem to be the case right now.

What u hearing about sherrifs to make you say that? Because we haven't practiced yet or someone you know told you he hasn't looked good his 1st week on campus lmfaooo. ... i think Shirrefs is going to be ok.... Hoping we hold on to Jack he isn't a lock nobody is... including Shaq haha

I think we do have some Locks, Shaq, Mullins , Byrd among others but I think Sherrifs has the tools as well he just needs to get stronger and learn how to not stare down receivers but he could prove to be a solid back up or potential starter. Malik Rosier at anytime can say he wants to play baseball full time so he needs to be ready. as far as your ? i havent heard anything yet on him.

Sheriffs is a very smart kid, with very, very good accuracy and mobility. I think he'll do well here, and people will be wondering how the heck he didn't have more offers. His tape is about as good as you'd want to see from a high school QB. Good feet, good head on his shoulders, above average arm, great accuracy, good decisions, etc.... He'll mature and get stronger. Solid, solid recruit.

We win 7 or less games this year do you think those 3 will stick? I don't use the word lock anymore cause since I've joined this board in 2012 almost every potential lock was picked and placed in another team locker haha... Mathew Thomas, Alex Collins, Johnnie Dixon, Jordan Scarlett, Bostwick, That DT from Madonna Clark, Valentine, Ermon Lane (supposedly), Brandon Powell, Tim Williams etc etc...

Just that word "Lock" has turned to "Dream School" phrase.... when used it gives me chills cause from that point it's 50/50 they do commit or if committed 50/50 they stick it out...

Sad really.... Each day that passes I feel more like 01canes. .. just lose hope in this program that has the resources to be a dominate dynasty... now is a doormat for other colleges to wipe their feet before they go into a recruit home and take their commitment...

Rather call these scholarships/commitments a RSVP just in case other schools don't come around then atleast they'll have a spot on our roster

I was very shocked at how mobile he was for such a big QB. Very impressed with his athleticism.

He played well in high school here in Georgia and he looks like he's gained some weight. A year in the S&C program and he could help the Canes.

Most of the guys you name were never considered locks and were considered dreams...
Mathew Thomas - was not interested in UM and didn't even want to come on an official visit
Alex Collins - committed to us when he had no offers, but many were surprised when he flipped
Johnnie Dixon - he goes Dwyer... is there such a thing as a Miami lock from there?
Jordan Scarlett - everyone was shocked when he committed to us...
Bostwick - not sure I would considers who never even committed to us a lock.
Clark - Our staff did not pursue him very hard
Valentine - never had the grades and instead had too many handlers
Ermon Lane (supposedly) - was a lock really early in the process but changed his mind pretty early on in his senior year.
Brandon Powell - not sure our coaches wanted him that bad, but not sure if I would consider him a lock considering he was originally committed to Tenn before flipping to us.
Tim Williams - again never even visited us...

One guy that you did leave off the list that I thought was a lock early on was Sony M. Locks to me are guys who love the U, rep the U, beg for the offer from the U, commit when they get the offer, and stay committed.

Dude I'm pretty sure I could go back in threads where pete was more active and Kyle was Hurricaneglory where people mentioned those kids were locks.... i even have a PM where a poster said williams was a silent lmfaooo. .. i could've been trolled for the williams one since I was new at the time but almost every thread about the guys I mentioned somebody would say lock or cane lock

Sony took the cake .... Clark was one of the main ones they said lock because his parents were season ticket holders... Bostwick because Armbrister was his cousin.... same thing with lane and barrow.... The dwyer thing wasn't talked about as much but **** even pete thought u could pencil in Dixon

from my experience with the kids down here they are trendy as **** they go with whats popping at the time, those kids were loving us at those times because we were trendy whether it was the new hire, winning streak, other commits etc

you gotta stay in the spotlight with these kids, thats why this season is so important for us to have a big year, a ten win season and just about the whole class sticks with some extra guys, have a crap season and see guys like bruce bolt

I don't think Bruce will be apart of this class but if we win 10 games this season... then we might have a chance.... i used to be the optimistic character but each year that passed we've ****ted the bed... even when we started the season off 7-0 in 2013... we probably should've been 4-3 we were blessed against UF GT and Wake Forest...... i wonder who else would've decommited that season if we didn't have that good start cause we all saw what happened with that horendous ending.

I pray to God we win 10-12 games..... we should easily

Ok, so someone answer me this. If we need a 10 win season to keep him, why did he commit to a 6 win team? I think these kids have the mind set that the will change things when they arrive, and aren't overly concerned about what happens before they arrive.

Don't underestimate these teenagers. They may want to be the ones to change things, but if they know they will play for a lame duck coach they will look elsewhere. You cant turn a lemon into a Porsche and they know that.

The only reason we sh¡t the bed is because we ended crappy every year, you cant do that in recruiting and especially with Elite kids, you gotta show these kids that we are going in the right direction, we beat FSU last year we win out and guy like scarlett dont de-commit, we need a 10 win season to keep most of these kids, a win against FSU would be a major major boost too, this is a 10 win team easily with this schedule

You are right my friend. The last 2 seasons we had the talent to win 10 games in the ACC. Last year I really thought we had a chance to win the ACC with all the talent we had. I just pray to God with all the coaching clinics they went to and the hire of Melvin actually helps, and the team clicks this year and does the unexpected. As much as i dont like golden. I don't want the team to fail just to show him the door. I hope they succeed this season so he can choose his own door out of coral gables. A 10 win + ACC championship will give him that opportunity.
