Jakai Clark update

In a weird way this could help long term just like Don injury. Campbell and Cam can help a lot. If not for these injuries they might of left.
I wouldn’t be surprised if cam left at some point anyway. These young kids are next level when healthy

Don coming back in fall will probably make things like last year , Rb by committee. But like last year I expect Don to start talking more snaps as he gets close to 100%. That’s why I expect cam to come back. He’ll get a lot of pt , especially early on a big screen.

I think Cam will be the starter all season. I'm always cautious with RB shoulder injuries.

I posted this on the UNLV transfer thread, but I would not count on Clark for impactful reps during the opener. A shoulder injury will limit his ability to lift strenuously and his biggest drawback today is lack of strength. He's a smart player but better suited for center. Not being able to lift from now until sometime in August does not bode well for the opener against Alabama's defensive line. This will simply result in more zone reads with a handoff to Cam up the middle for no gain and collapsed pockets during obvious passing downs forcing King to scramble.

Was just thinking how they should redshirt Clark this year along with several others.
I know Scaife practiced at RT in the spring but this is how I see it unfolding:

LT Nelson / Campbell
LG Donaldson / Traore
C Gaynor / Reed / Moose
RG Scaife / Hillery
RT Williams / Herbert

Campbell and Traore are the first 2 off the bench, and after them you'd have 3 grizzled vets on the 2nd team while the youths man the scout team.

Redshirt: Clark, Rivers, Walker, Washington, Seymore, McLaughlin, Rodriguez
You must be drunk if you want Scaife starting at guard again...

I'm grizzled. Can I be a walkon?

Forgot....used up my eligibility.

Scaife is NOT a guard, stop with that nonsense

Upsetting to hear that Clark has been injuried in a car accident. I hope that he comes back to full strength and that everyone involved in this accident will get well soon (obviously if someone else was involved).

I think Rivers will replace him. He was praised by Justice, he was praised by his teammates and he appears to be there athletically.

You have Rivers RS? Dude is the starter now and definitely better than half the guys you have listed as 2 Deep

Did I say I wanted Scaife starting at guard again? I just think that Justice will revert back to Williams at RT with Scaife back at RG. Rivers will get his chance to earn a starting job but I don't see him unseating Donaldson, Scaife, Williams.

Clark may need to redshirt. He will loss a ton of strength without being able to lift the next four months. And like you said strength was already his weakness.

Exactly what I was thinking. Dude seemed like a prime transfer candidate if he didn't win a starting job. Now not starting is expected.
