The ACC voted Jon Scheyer ACC Coach of the Year for 2025-26 season. He got 51 votes. Lucas got only 19. NINETEEN!! What a robbery. So one guy succeeded at a perennial powerhouse while the other guy took over an absolute mess and went from 7 wins last season to 24 and counting this season. Lucas had to build an entirely new team and finished 3rd in the ACC. But he got outvoted by 32 votes!! The ACC is a joke for this. Miami has the biggest turnaround in all of college basketball with a 17 win improvement. Yet he gets very little respect. Anyways, that's my rant. Jai Lucas, you've done a **** of a job in your first season. You're my ACC coach of the year, **** you are my NCCAM Division 1 coach of the year! Go Miami!!

Oh absolutely. That decision cost him the award for sure. Lessons have been learned.

Yeah this conference is a joke. Miami had a 1st teamer, a 2nd teamer and an all defense guy. The HC finished 2nd in COTY voting. I think him not winning was ridiculous but I bet had we won a few more games that we barely lost, then he may have won

Duke is very good, but let’s also remember that the ACC and its media know about how we embarrassed Duke football. UM as a school must be as or even more hated than before.
Also remember that except for the phony conference championship (dumb a*s tiebreaker), Duke is nothing but basketball and lacrosse. The ACC will always try to give Duke and UNC something positive to brag about in basketball because they have nothing else.

So? Not sure what the point of this comment is? Miami. Was 13 and 5 when expected to be pretty mediocre this season.

Why not? Duke is at the tip top every season and get the best of the best recruits because of what Coach K did at Duke, not Jon. Miami finished 3rd when projected for 10 thru 13 from preseason predictions I saw. Jai should have been coach of the year.
